Evening all,

Roygbiv joining me once again to talk about all the latest goings-on with t'Blades, including the record signing of Callum Robinson (03:20), the Burton friendly (07:05), Ravel Morrison (16:30), and the Lys Mousset rumours (23:50). Then, rating the “Premier League readiness” of the squad, position by position, looking at strengths and weaknesses (34:10).

Thanks as always for listening, and UTB!

You’ve gone early with the pronunciation of “Moooh-set”. You’re clearly ignored the official guidance:-

I've already forgotten his real name and replaced it with Les.

Bill and Les up front, a proper working class strike force.

Just need a Ken now.

Another enjoyable pod, this Andrew bloke is growing into his role.

True Andrew is decent and deserves credit but I did find the stats angle really interesting and so informative.

Anyone can give an opinion so it’s great to hear some facts about the teams and players.
It was close to fortune telling where the stats man would confidently announce that a team or player is overpeforming or underperforming.
He’d also make predictions that certain clubs were in false positions and invariably a few weeks later he would be proven correct.

Really enjoyable podcast.

Since the comment was mentioned in there wondering who our last “foreign signing” was I’ve been attempting to work it out without resorting to google. If we’re talking a signing from abroad, would the Higgopotomous be the answer? If any foreigner, presumably the Canadian David Edgar? If a foreign player from a foreign club....would it be one of the Norwegian kids, or the Argentinian Parrino?

He certainly is - there's a nice dynamic developing between the two.
However Andrew?, Roy?, Panchero? needs to stop trying to be polite and commit to his opinion more - stop worrying about getting pelters on twitter as he talks alot of sense and I invariably agree with what he says.

Also, I have myself described Les Mussett as the "new Christian Nade" on this very forum so was made to feel like a right twerp listening to this...thanks!

I also have not googled cos where's the fun in that. I thought Caolan Lavery who was Canadian-born, but played for Northern Ireland so not sure that counts. Carter-Vickers is a US international but we only had him on loan.

Pretty sure that Higgo is indeed the last signing from an overseas club.

Jean-Francois Lescinel?

Either way I think it's a very niche answer. Broadening it out to foreign players who we signed permanently who you could say had a decent impact for us... how far back do you have to go?

You have to go back a bit for first-teamers - Cuvelier? Campbell-Ryce (Jamaica)? Lescinel Jean Francois?

For foreign signings that we signed permanently for more than say a nominal fee, I feel like the dreaded David Carney might be the last 12 years ago. Apologies to those that noticed I’ve mentioned Carney twice in as many days – probably worth some sort of ban.

Carter-vickers is English born

Great pod which is keeping me entertained while in the car. Pretty much agree with the comment son where we are in regards to our operational readiness for the new season, although Was surprised Calum Chambers from Arsenal was t mentioned as he would move us up both defensively and for the deeper midfield area. He’s pretty much a younger Bash so would fit with the “next Feb” recruitment we seem to be looking at.

Well auto correct made a hash of that.
“Next gen” recruitment.
I think you can work out the others.
