that Killa either goes or stays for the rest of the season...isn't it? you know, you remember Blackwell said Killa and his agent have a week to decide or he stays for the rest of the season.

Any bets he goes on deadline day and we're scrambling around to make a signing at the last minute???

I have immense sympathy for Blackwell. I heard his interview perhaps before the Preston or QPR game on Radio Sheffield. You could hear the fustration in his voice as it seems the Kilgallon situation is putting his transfer plans in limbo. Blackwell made reference to your very point NN6, he has a club to run and doesn't want a situation where he goes on deadline day and we're struggling to get someone in.

I am open to the opinion that the club could have handled the Kilgallon situation better but I can't help feeling sorry for Blackwell whose knob is on the block more than most.

I can't see him leaving on deadline day as the offer will have to be bigger than one offered today due to the timing. Any club wanting him won't wait til then imo

I have no sympathy for Blackwell whatsoever.

He has had millions to spend and basically has one contracted centre-half. Killa's situation is not an unusual or unforeseeable situation. Killa is perfectly entitled to see out his contract. If Blackwell hadn't wasted so much (on Evans) he could easily sign a meaningful centre-back now and say Seip on loan (making 3 plus Walker) and let Killa stew. No doubt on last day of window McCabe would sell him and fair play that wopuld make sense, but a well run club and decent manager should have sorted this out in summer.

I am sick of Blackwell moaning and claiming he is hard done by.

Couldn't agree more Micalijo. Blamewell has more excuses than a defence lawyer trying to defend the indefensible. If it's not injuries it's the weather. If it's not loanees it's players out of contract. He seems to think that no other club has these type of problems.

A last day bid would be ideal for McCabe, money in, no time to spend it ....

Like Man U did with Tevez?

Who's to say we had any offers in the summer which we could have taken? Who's to say Killa wouldn't have stayed if we'd offered the money he expected?

Events just conspire against you sometimes.

If i was Killa i would wait till the end of the season and play to the best of my ability and get the highest wage possible when my contract runs out. Simples.

So your agent says I can get double? your wages and a great signing on fee if you go now. A 3 Year deal.

You say no and you break your leg 3 weeks later?

As you say simples.

Tevez? Totally different. Man Utd didn't want to spend £30m on him. He wasn't their player.

I don't care what offers we did or didn't have in Summer. KB knew about this and we were never going to offer Killa the wedge he wanted. What did KB do? Signed an injured J Fortune. That to me is not events conspiring against you.

Not so different. They negotiated for a long time and ultimately couldn't meet the cost. They're now clearly a striker light. It happens.

KB knew we couldn't keep Killa in the summer? That's hindsight, not fact.

Your source Keenzy?

Papers saying he has gone for £2m to Newcastle today........

Just seen it on the YP website, good news if true:thumbup:

Even better news that Monty could be packing his bags.........

Been on Radio Sheffield this morning - they have spoken to his agent.

You Blackwell sympathisers really do tie your self in knots defending the clown.

He spent all summer moaning about how skint we were. Why then do you think KB would think we couild keep Killa and that we wouldn't have the situation in January?

I think any reasonable person would have said we weren't going to be able to offer Killa £15k a week or more and the clown basically said this himself all summer by stating how skint we were.

What, Monty linked with a couple of Premier League clubs? surely not eh? ;)

I mean, it's cracking news that a team in the league above wants one of our ever presents and one of the first names on the team sheet isn't it?

The problem was more that we couldn't offer Killa double that plus hefty bonuses.

Still, given the spat and run to the press in the past, does this just mean he's still off in January and all the critisism is batted back to the club rather than the player/agent?

I wouldn't call it being a 'Blackwell sympathiser', I'd call it supporting United.
Not slagging them off for everything they do.

and not paying Killa what he (or his agent) is demanding is called not being held to ransom by one player.

You Blackwell knockers do bend over backwards to find anything at all to moan about.

Now, as I've stated before, I'm not one of the "Blackwell in at all costs" gang, but to moan about one group of fans while displaying exactly the same characteristics about your stance on the subject is stretching it a bit. There are those who believe he is the answer to all our woes regardless, and there are those who will slate anything and everything he does regardless, without finding any middle ground whatsoever.

The "In" and "Out" groups are so alike it's ridiculous. Neither will give any weight whatsoever to the point of view of the others. It's just a matter of who can shout the loudest or type the most, in the belief that the biggest gob or quickest typist is the one who is right.

I'm more ambivalent. I don't believe that Blackwell is the answer to all our problems, but given that he's not got a bottomless pit of cash, he's trying. After all, we could be in a worse position. We also could be in a better position, but it's not entirely Blackwell's fault, otherwise we'd still have Beattie, and there would have been no need to send Sharp on loan if we could have offered him enough cash to sit on his arse, and we wouldn't be speculating on Killa if we'd given him the cash he and his agent wanted.

Still, that will mean nothing, because I don't want to either shoot Blackwell now, or have his children.

I think so. If we have to lose Monty to keep Kilgallon, I'd be quite relaxed about that. Getting cash for Monty would be a bonus.

Radio Sheff saying this morning they've spoken to Killa's agaent and he'll be staying till the end of the season.......for my money, that means he'll be gone by the end of the week, cos United are playing hard ball over a fee and they're threatening to stick it out and go for free.

That's the answer I would have written myself. I don't especially like Blackwell, but I don't think for a minute he's sitting on his hands watching an approaching trainwreck.

The transfer window system causes all teams difficulties. At the moment we're a team trying to make a transition from a Prem budget to a Champ one. Times are genuinely hard for us.

Losing Monty and keeping Killa for 5 months, it's not like he will stay if we are playing Championship football next season.

That said I like Monty but if we are tightening the belts and we are looking to play Harper and Willo in midfield can we afford to turn down good money for a bench warmer? It's the Hulse situation all over again.

EDIT: Sorry I thought Montys contract was up next summer.
