Still my dream.

I started watching the Blades in the very early 1960's, over 40 years after our last FA Cup win and my dream then was to see us lift that trophy at Wembley. Years later, the cup seams to have lost all glamour to the big clubs and to many supporters but for me it would be a culmination of the success and improvement we have seen in the past three years. Come on Chris, make my dream come true, lift that trophy.

Couldn’t agree more. We’ve not had a real bash at it under CW but if... “if”... we’re around mid table and looking safe(ish) then I’d like us to have a bash this year.

We’re certainly good enough to give it a go. If Wigan can do it then so can we.

I don’t think this provides much evidence that the top clubs are not taking the FA Cup seriously.

Only the two highlighted aberrations of Portsmouth and Wigan provide any sort of hope for other clubs and those two sides nearly bankrupted themselves in doing it and spent the best part of the following years in the lower leagues.

For the vast majority of teams, the Cup is an unwanted distraction. Watford must have been ecstatic to reach the final last season. Only to get humiliated.
