Beat me to it, in the big up for the great man. Add to that, author of an interesting book on the tactics of the game and playing 1st class cricket for Derbyshire and you'll understand why I want him honoured in some permanent way at the ground. Surely the most deserving United player of a statue or something.

Agree 100% about the statue. Its shows the measure of the man when he spoke up for Rab Howell when he was castigated by the Club for his affair when many others were quick to demonise him.

Not sure there's any possible way you can categorise him as a striker. Wasn't a target man, didn't play off the shoulder of the last defender. Probably best suited to being a box striker but never spent enough time in there. But he had a special flare and still, was one of my favourite players at the time growing up.

Also special to Nick Montgomery. In terms of unique, I don't think we'll ever see another player quite like him turn out for the Blades. the enigma that he was.

It can be in a good or bad way. In our history it must be Fatty Foulkes which is why he has gone down in folklore. The most unique player I have seen is Tri Dellas, who looked big and cumbersome and at times you'd wonder how he had made it as a professional. But when he was on top of his game he was some player, powerful skilful and with the hardest shot I have seen.
(By the way, I don't want a debate about whether something can be 'most unique' thank you very much ).

Sabella, great unique skill but didn't fit in with those around him so no end product. Fish out of water and was kicked off the park in several matches I saw.

He didn't fit in with those around him simply because none of them had a football brain between 'em. I lost count of the number of times from the Kop I swore at the dozy buggers on the pitch who failed to read him - he was miles ahead of the rest of the "team" put together.
