“Older Blades”?!![]()
well some of the yoof of today, won't remember him like us svelte mature beer connoisseurs
Couldn't understand a bloody word of it![]()
Unless your name is GabbiadiniHis defensive style was also Bashamesque as well. You'll never beat Paul Beesley....!
Remember him being nicknamed ‘The Count’. Turned in some atrocious performances as noted, Sunderland at home being Lee Baxteresque. Improved after that though.

Just listened to the first few minutes and it sounds a great listen although I'm really grateful for this laptop screen otherwise I'd be wiping me face from Beesley's spit every other word with that accent!
Fond memories of Beelsey although I have to admit I was more of a Brian Gayle fan but Gayle got too many injuries. Will definitely listen tomorrow to the full thing when working from home!![]()
If Gayle hadn’t been a bit error prone he’d have played for a top club. Great defender and organiser, just had the odd ‘moment’.Just listened to the first few minutes and it sounds a great listen although I'm really grateful for this laptop screen otherwise I'd be wiping me face from Beesley's spit every other word with that accent!

Possibly the most one footed player ever seen at The Lane.
Using the subtitles, I gave up after 3 minutes as it seems that the software struggle to understand his accent!
Keith Gillespie would be also on Bert's Long John Silver list.I think you're right. Roger Nilsen would run him close, but Beesley would doing almost anything to avoid having to kick it with his right foot. He got better after he changed his haircut.
I’m going to get pelters for this but ..... living proof you don’t have to be good at professional football to make a career out of it. Sorry but just my opinion.
UTB.
