Sorry if this has been covered before, but did it ever come out at what he got banned for?

Just after the news of the 2 CSKA Moscow getting a one game ban for taking a cold remedy with a banned substance in it, because wasnt it said that he had taken a cold remedy or was that to cover what he had taken?

He got banned for taking a banned substance - in this instance 'ephedrine'.

Irrelevant what the circumstances were for taking it or what other footballing authorities have punished their players. The decision was right.

Exactly one rule for all. Look at Chelsea and their poaching of young players, oh...hold on...

i admit yh the decision was right but find it unfair that the rules are not spread throught the footballing world. Things coulda been a lot different if paddy had been given a one match ban, would mean we dont have to wait to bring him bak into the side and get him match fit etc

Although i do agree that they were right to punish him just think some rules should be through out the whole of the footballing world.

I know where you're coming from James but the juristiction for Paddy is the English FA and the juristiction for that CSKA player will be the Russian FA. It get's on my nerves a bit when people have a go at our FA for punishing players too harsh for things like this and pointing out other examples of more lenient punishments. Similiar to the Chambers/Olympics situation a few years back. In my opinion we're the ones in the right and it is the other countries who need to come up to our standards, not the other way round.

Yh im not having a go at them i was just stating that i thought were simialr cases. and that cause drugs is a world wide problem maybe there should be rules in football that cover all the different areas about this problem. Then no one would feel unjust about bans given.

I agree tho been a big miss this season i think.
