Every time I left Aldi or Sainsbury's, or several shops in town, the security sensors would go off and everyone would look at me. I wasn't sure if it was my phone, my work pass or the key fob for my car. Eventually I took my SUFC season cards out of my wallet and it stopped happening. Anyone else have this problem?

This is odd because they're just the same type of NFC tag as a contactless debit/credit card or a bus pass etc

I definitely don't have the same problem with credit/debit cards or bus pass.

Yes. I get this in one Tesco I frequent. I've always thought it was the car key fob, but I shall now conduct a closely controlled experiment by standing next to the doors and waving the season card randomly at the sensors.

Did coincide with stopping pinching stuff, if it did it may not be your card

Its just to signal to the general public that we are Premier League

I get it with my work pass in Sports Direct.

May I say, this is a very inoffensive preseason thread.

Yes! Glad it’s just not me. I think Tesco have an e-fit of my kite behind every counter in the country now.

It happened yesterday when I entered the very Tesco in Stanwell where I did hard labour for 8 years. I wondered what could have triggered it.

Anyway, here's a plan. You go in, set the alarm off with your season ticket, then go over to the security guard and explain all to him, maybe even giving him another demonstration. You then make sure you say, "Of course, it will happen again on the way out, so I thought I'd better let you know."

When you're doing your shopping you then fill every pocket, bag, and orifice with security tagged goods before leaving the store, remembering to give the guard a knowing nod as you light up like a Christmas tree on the way out.
