Interesting to see these highlights again. I'd forgotten Jesse Lingard was playing for Manchester United.
I was checking this out after reading that Joe Ironside was back in the football league after signing for Macclesfield Town from Kidderminster. When players drop down the leagues it is difficult to get back, so he has done well to do this. Sadly many of the players who played in this game didn't end up making it.

30,000 crowd? pogba played, really enjoyed it, the thing that always stood out to me was, not watching the young players before,, was the respect they had for the referees decisions, being used to watching football either at the lane or on sky was how refreshing it was, a man United player took one of ours out around the halfway line near john Street, not a bad tackle but we would normally all got up and shouted all sorts of verbals at there player, a free kick would havs been given, a yellow definitely and our player would have rolled around for 10 minutes, the sad thing was how it stood out, the only player I remember saying anything to the ref was Pogba and that was only gentle questioning, they all soon changed but a fantastic memory, mind you Pogba looked 25!.

The thing I remember about the match was Harry Maguire, he was the best player on the pitch by some distance. He had so much time, he won everything and looked like a man playing in a kidsgame.

Fucking makes my piss boil when commentators call them “United” when they’re playing us, so disrespectful. I know we’ve been off the Premier league radar for quite a while. But I think media need re-educating who the original United really are.

Ravel Morrison was a joy to watch that night. Pogba was quality. Agree with the post about sportsmanship and gamesmanship, was just 22 lads playing football

Maguire always stood out as a real future talent but this kid was a real winner came from Barnsley he played on with injuries which in the end finished his professional career which is a shame ( I've forgotten his name believe it or not ) went into none league as his knees couldnt cope with the demands of full time training.
Could have gone all the way in my opinion Boxer !.

Yep I went to both the legs and the centre back that really shone for us had to pack it in due to knee problems he was a real leader and Warrior along side Maguire,
Maguire always stood out as a real future talent but this kid was a real winner came from Barnsley he played on with injuries which in the end finished his professional career which is a shame ( I've forgotten his name believe it or not ) went into none league as his knees couldnt cope with the demands of full time training.
Could have gone all the way in my opinion Boxer !.

Went to notts county to watch us we won the game and he played ! remember one incident when he went to win a high ball through a ruck of players piled through them all to win it.Wasnt a big kid ( maybe 5"10 ) but really brave cost him in the end .real shame !

Kennedy, Maguire, Slew & Long were all good against a Man Utd team that had Pogba, Rashford, Morrison, Johnstone, Keane x2, Tunicliffe & Blackett.

Two games stand out for me with him. Bristol City away where he won every ball and was shouting at and organising the senior pros all through the game. Rarely went to ground to tackle but won most of his challenges.

Despite Done's two goals he was clearly man of the match for us.

The other is Rotherham at home before the semi final. He played alongside Maguire ( captain for the night ?). When Harry made a mistake in the first half Kennedy could be seen giving him a bollocking . Harry just nodded and carried on. Respect shown by Harry to who he obviously saw as his leader despite Harty being the more senior pro.

Shame about his knees as I thought he had the potential to be a very good player for us

I can remember when we beat QPR at their place in the FA Cup in ‘15, and they were a PL side with some good players, and TK was exceptional that day.

Doesn't surprise me he was in a promotion winning team.
Feel certain he would be a really good pro given decent knees ,obviously still doing it but at semi pro level.
McGrath played for us when his knees were knackered but he was so good and with his experience didn't need to run much.
Kennedy no such luck as he was at the start of his career, he maybe can play on for a number of years but he will suffer in later life.

Shame, he looked a great prospect as a teenager. Just shows you need not just every attribute but also a large slice of good fortune to make it In the professional game
