I've been very uneasy about the lack of anti Blackwell stuff on here recently and I must confess it has been a concern to me.

Best I can come up with is a totally ridiculous quote in today's Telegraph where he compares Monty to a 'hod carrier'.

I'm paraphrasing but he says 'in all teams you have hod carriers and you have artisans - and Monty is the former.'

The total humiliation for Blackwell is that an artisan is a worker in the Monty mould.

I suppose he might be saying the whole squad is rubbish in which case he is very nearly correct but I very much doubt it.

Blackwell Out. Keep the Faith.

Isn't that like saying that instead of a Sheffield United fan, you are a Blackwell obsessive... more concerned with what is happening with the manager instead of looking at the wider picture of the team? :)

Spot on Come from away. The last two results have virtually guarenteed Blackwell his job for the next few years, what with Clevor Trevor backing him.

Time for the obbsessives to crawl back under the hole they came from, still Quinny is playing poor so all is not lost ;-)

No. I was being slightly tongue in cheek even if that didn'tc ome across. For those who don't beluieve me on that, Blackwell and the wider picture are obviously linked anyway aren't they.

I see the wider picture and it is frightening, hugely painful to look at for me as long as Blackwell is in charge. Hopeless is a word that springs to mind.

Yes - fair comment, but I think it also has meanings related to working class. You'll have to bear with me because I really dislike Blackwell as a manager. As I said, this is best I can come up with this week.

Didier Deschamps was christened the "water carrier" for the likes of Zidane and Henry. But Blackwell has poor old Monty shifting bricks. Outrageous.

I'm not a Blackwell fan either but my only criticism of this statement would be - if Monty is the hod carrier who are the brickies?

Ah but it didn't do the France WC98 team much good all that name calling did it?

I had a terrible premonition that we might be seeing Blackwell's plonker. Photoshop that if you dare.

You;ve got time to start a thread like this, but you don't ahve time to tell me who you're favourite striker since Deane left is!? Shame on you Micalijo!!??

Well, not the sort of plonker I had in mind, but I suppose Keenzy is still at work, so we'll have to wait for the cheap nob gags.

There is no intention of getting rid of Blackwell while we are still doing ok. We aren't in the relegation zone, football is making money and things are running at a level they like.

No one listens anyways, but I've said before certain people like the comfyness of the championship. But I can't prove it, so oh well.

That's exactly the point! Blackwell's departure is essential the wider picture. Every week we have to endure him is one more week of delay in our hopes of reaching the Premiership. That just will not happen under his management.

That's quite a post Autumn, given how short it is. Very interesting as usual.

You are saying I believe that McCabe couldn't give a monkey's about promotion inspite of the all horrible spin in his Chairman's statement.

There's some hilarious stuff in the accounts about us having one of the biggest budgets in the division (yet KB says we have no money) and I read alot of accounts in my job and the SUFC latest have only confirmed my suspicion that the collapse in property values has directly led to us having to cutback on the playing side.

I also believe (with no evidence of course) he has borrowed money on back of BDTBL and used that to fund the now struggling property investments. The narratives in the accounts can say all they like about strong portfolios but I aint having it based on McCabe's track record of telling us how it is.

Vinnie Jones was a hod carrier before he became a professional footballer. It didn't do him any harm - or the teams he played for.

Blackwell worked as a builder in his younger days. He clearly knows about these things.

Bearing in mind that you have no evidence to support your theory, then 'shut up' might be a sensible course of action for you.

I'm curious. Do you really sit there dreaming stuff up, then form an instant and unshakable belief in what you've just imagined?

Why should I shut up? No I am not dreaming it up. I don't like the opening to the accounts that read as if we are a property company. I say the accounts are almost inpenetrable in terms of understanding who owns what to whom but as a result of this it is fair game to debate on here what the position is as long as it is done sensibly, which I try to do no matter how much you disagree. I think the accounts and the recession give some credibility to my opinion so to portray me as some kind of lunatic is I think unfair Duncs. You can come up with all the 'McCabe knows what he is doing' stuff and I'm sure he does but he can't control the global economy.

Obviously you don't know me but I do think you take me a bit too seriously on stuff like this. I've said I don't like McCabe and lost all faith after the Beattie interview. I don't like property developers Dunc - simple as that. Makes me feel ill the money they make out of it, like bankers. I've said my views are clouded by this so just ignore me if you don't like it. What I do think is McCabe does have best interests of SUFC at heart, no doubt about it, I just think he has got it badly wrong with Robson, Blackwell and now these huge property links.

I believe they do, but Mccabe is the boss and he likes comfy in football, but success in investing off the pitch.

I can see exactly where you're coming from. The increase in terms of profile and turnover that Premier League football would bring would be disastrous to McCabe's investments off the pitch. Of all the shit posted on United forums, the posts saying McCabe would rather be in the 2nd tier are the stupidest of them all

Agreed. I'll slate McCabe happily but I can't come up with any argument to suggest his exit strategy includes a prolonged stay in the middle of the CCC. I suppose investors may think returns are higher from a lower start but there has to be an interest in investing in the first place and a break even Premier Club or a yo-yo set-up like WBA has to be better than a break even CCC club I think.

I don't see why it's stupid.

At the moment there's not much risk involved being in the championship. A serious crack at becoming a challenger for even UEFA cup spots on a regular basis is going to take a £50m+ investment in transfer fees and on top of that those players will more than likely be on £2m a year contracts. The extra money from being in the premiership gets swallowed up very quickly.

That's a lot of risk to take on.

What about the massive fall in turnover that a sustained spell out of the Premier League will inevitably lead to? 2 more seasons at this level and we'll be back to averaging 17-18,000.

What about the risk to the bid to host a World Cup match? There's no point in increasing capacity if there's no desire to reach the top flight.

What about the risk to moving the club on? Wednesday are living proof of how difficult it is to get investment in a club that's been a long time out of the top flight.

I can't see how anything McCabe wants to achieve is easier in the 2nd tier. What does he get out of a mid-table, stagnating club in the Championship?
