We knew that other coaches were interested in our overlapping central defenders, but it seems the big boys are now copying us in other ways. We throw away a 3 goal lead at Villa and draw. Barcelona and Ajax have this week managed to get 3 goal leads and lose their semifinals!
The serious point, of course, is that next time something goes wrong for Utd, we need to avoid thinking ‘such things only ever happen to us.’ They can happen to the very best.

and we need to keep Man Citeh's injury time goal disallowed by VAR in our back pockets as well for later ;)

It's going to be interesting to see how Championship sides try to replicate us over the next season or so.

It can happen to the very best but fewer times that for clubs like us. Mind you, we have suffered plenty of gut wrenching defeats, relgations etc in our history to write a book! I was bad enough after the last 10 minutes v Villa and the last minute equaliser by Millwall. Still, you've got to have some sympathy for the Barca and Ajax fans. Whatever level of match, all fans are just the same and are powerless as, in these cases, they watch their team implode.

I bet there are a few Barca fans this week going "Barca eh, we never do it the easy way!" as they collect their 6th La Liga title in 10 years or whatever it is.

Let's really confuse the Prem teams and go with an overlapping goalkeeper.

Interesting thoughts about using a goalkeeper offensively. I saw a tactical video on this and thought it'd be interesting, however it's only discussed on paper and arose from a misinterpretation.

With goalkeepers such as Ter Stegen at Barcelona and Ederson at Man City being such effective players techically (playing out from the back) I wonder if this will ever become practical if chasing a game.

Here's the video:
