Couldn't tell you, to be honest! As I say I was elsewhere, so didn't know who was on the mic and who wasn't
Looks like you missed the incredible situation you talk of then. Never mind at least you got to be in the town hall.

Far be it from me to be fair to the press, but I don’t think Danny was expressing disbelief but rather a sense of awesome wonder. He’s one of the few with whom I’d share a beer. He could perhaps tell me why his weird colleague Smith didn’t write a column urging Wednesday fans to welcome our promotion...

I really don't think he was expressing disbelief either and if Danny would share a beer with you, I'd agree he is one of the few who would.:D

That's a bit presumptuous isn't it?

You're assuming he'd be happy to make a trip to the Troll Tavern and then watch in awe, as you hold forth educating tne straw legions of admiring hoofers.

Lump in your throat kind of stuff. Fair play to Look North

I've actually met him and yes he is somebody you could have a beer with. A lovely bloke.

.... and fucked it up by singing it at a hundred miles an hour !

When sung at the right tempo, it's up there with the great football anthems of all time but sung at that pace just makes it sound faintly ridiculous.

I get the impression that many can't wait to get to the 'ooh' bit at the end but , as any discerning lady will tell you , that can lead to disappointment for everyone.

May I suggest that the Kop choir listens closely to the wonderful 'Sunshine on Leith ' by the Scottish fans and realise that faster is not always better .
Joe I am right there with you pal.Like pubescent teenagers who just cannot hold on to their "Custard" when alternatively its anthemic qualities could be better reflected and feel much more satisfying at a slower pace. Perhaps its an age thing.
