I presume the council workmen have been up all night. I went past the Town Hall at 8.30 and all the 'banners' ('We are Premier League') on the lampposts have gone. Ditto the banner on the TH balcony - that's been replaced with some 'Missing Millions' shite - no doubt the latest PC bollocks.
The only evidence that last night ever happened is the sign outside the O2 Academy where the upcoming bands normally goes - it says 'Like A Night Out In Sheffield'.
So it would appear that SCC can act promptly.
When they want to.

Didn’t stop a couple of cunts whinging about the mess left behind 10 mins after everyone left
It was a mess but the council street cleaners were there as soon as everyone left.

You could say that people should put their rubbish in the bins but they were already full and they’d only need emptying anyway. So leaving on the ground for street cleaning team to sort after probably made sense.

It’s not japan where everyone takes their rubbish home

Saw them taking them down about midnight... asked if I could have one and the mardy git said no!

Littering in a city is probably more environmentally friendly than putting it in a bin considering that cities are essentially huge bits of litter. Put them on floor and you're just adding to the litter pile, put them in a bin and they probably get dumped in the sea and suffocate a few dolphins.

If you dump them in the city, they'll still end up in landfill or the sea, you just have the issue of the council employing someone to pick it up for you.

It's fine though, councils are flush with cash

Just don't pick it up imo.

No, it’s nasty little England where the ignorant, flag-waving yobs live.

Proud Englishmen.

Well they could hardly leave them up and offend the Wendy scum and their loving councillors, obviously if Wendy do ever achieve anything they will be permanent fixtures.

That's my point. Now that the World Snooker has moved on (which our 'Council' did their best to get rid of in the 70s because it was sponsored by a...smoking company) what's left to promote our city? The odd farmer's market? LGBT festival?
