Well... It is a goodbye. He's going back to Man U. Doesn't mean he'll not be returning next season.

Competition will be fierce to sign him. When the adrenaline of the season dies down, the lad will want to consider all his options,

A possible call up to the full England squad is unlikely to help our cause. Maybe !!

UTB

It's the end of the season innit, probably his last official engagement with us this season, it's just a conclusion to this chapter, doesn't mean there won't be another with us.

Doesn't mean there will be either but no need to read too much into it.

If he comes back on loan he knows he will be playing
If he goes somewhere else he will not know for definite
This must make us favourites

What did he actually say in his speech tonight?

I’d Honestly rather sign someone else if the only option is a loan.

What did he actually say in his speech tonight?

It was like the conversation you have when you’re 18, and you’re saying good bye at palma airport to the girl you’ve been hanging out the back of for the last week in Magaluf, before she flies home. Then it’s back to your hotel, shower, clean pair of kecks and you’re out on the pull again for your second week.

You bothered going to the airport? Balls to that, a peck on the cheek and a cordial handshake in the hotel lobby will suffice, thank you very much.

I...that...is just poetically accurate. I know exactly what you mean by that.

If Man U want to develop their asset as much as possible, why not send him on loan to a PL side who adore him already, where he's already settled and can focus on adapting to a new division.

It's a no brainer. But yes, we have to think about what we he will decide when the adrenaline dies down, as has been said.
