Ground extentions/Renovations

I think a few cosmetic upgrades would be nice though.

Clean/paint the brown concrete.

Get a sign that goes across the pillars on the South, rather than have

T h e B l a d e s

Which has always sort of annoyed me.

New low profile lights in the BLUT, because the massive hanging lamp shades get in the way of the Kop goal.

Maybe get The Tony Currie Stand proud of the top of the stand and backlight it, make it properly permanent.

Any improvements to concourse facilities would be greatly received. Bogs, pies, pints, better trained staff, better bevs.

And this is maybe because I'm easily impressed, but I like that coloured astroturf that they have around grounds nowadays, although it does get filthy.

And we need another permanent score board, like the one on the BL stand, that you can see from the BLUT, you can see the screen but it's always got supertram adverts on it.

If we're not putting anything between the Kop and South anytime soon I'd suggest putting another screen there, for VAR decisions and such.

All of that lot will be expensive, but not new stand expensive.

I agree, but the main change I want is the return of the mobile pie man they had in the early 90's! Saved minutes of queuing that did!

Currently we are non Premier compliant as we need a Media Centre. No choice, it's a PL rule, so as KM isn't daft when it come to property, that must be starting imminently .

A nice inflatable piggy training ground thing in the car park to accommodate most of the national press wankers who will have us down as relegation favourites, and a special one man slum in Page Hall for fatty Samuels. The Star won't need any space as they will sit in their offices and nick most of their stories from here.

That the commercial side generated more income

Sorry, I understand you now.

I agree that improving the commercial side probabaly generates more income than increasing the capacity.

I just think any investment in either would be better spent on the pitch, at least for next season.

The priority should be on the pitch.

This is a thread about stadium renovations/extensions...I'm talking about the priority for that which will put us in a better position to finance the playing side.

It came out in our most recent accounts that we're lagging someway behind a lot of other Championship teams in terms of commercial revenue. Far better the club concentrate on that than whacking 10,000 extra seats on the Kop and charging £40 a ticket.

So where do we put the 9,000 season ticket holders on the Kop?
With home capacity reduced to 19,000 then maybe we’re hoping that 1000’s of the current 26,000 season ticket holders don’t renew.
We would be forced to put most of the remaining Kop season ticket holders in the BLUT meaning no pay on the day.

Unless you’r a season ticket holder then you’ll not see a game, surely this would piss off loads of genuine fans with many threatening never to return after being basically banned from the stadium for at least a season.

Spurs demolished half a stadium and still played in it while they were building there new ground I’m sure there’s a way we can still use the kop and build on it

The fans desperately need a better Kop but the Club need more corporate facilities. I personally would like to see the Kop done first. This would bring it up to the same standard of the other 3 stands. The Kop was really an outdated development the day is was finished nearly 30 years ago. It really does spoil look of the stadium and think the fans deserve better.

How long would it actually take to demolish and build just the terracing? Even if it was uncovered. Not saying do that, I'm just interested.

Didn’t we basically do all the work to build the current version May-July 1992?

Don't get me wrong, we all know the problems with the kop but I love seeing the kop when its full, I think a lot of opposition fans would love a 10,000 kop roaring on their team

Yep, which is why the basic shape should be maintained. I don’t think many are talking about drastically changing the thing – it would be a shame to see it made two tiers for example. But improving the facilities, access points, removing the pillars, making modest changes to improve fan experience, would be worthwhile.

Existing plans are spot on for me. Invest in the playing squad first though otherwise there's no use for extra seats and corporate facilities. A couple of seasons surviving in the Prem and then it'll be time to act on those plans. In an ideal world I'd love it to be ready tomorrow but it can't be the most sensible priority this summer.

How long would the two parts take? Is there anything at all that can be done in a close season?

Worst proposal in this thread is definitely moving to a depressing new bowl out in Aston or wherever.

We're all well aware that nothing is going to happen immediately, it's just an interesting thing to talk about.

As we all know, the Kop is the main issue with the Lane, the vast majority of Championship clubs provide better facilities for away fans than we do for fans on the Kop, which is pretty poor. So for me that should be addressed as soon as reasonably possible, but the current plans don't do that in my opinion.

It would just be nice for the club to look at this long term rather than the "make do" attitude which seems to be always present. We should always aim to be the best we can be, so if it means spending more money but having a stand/stadium development which will provide great facilities for the next 50 years, that's got to be the way to do it. The short term developments are the reason it's currently difficult to expand the stadium without investing more than we should have.

Replace the solid wall between the Pukka pie compost corner and the kop with a see through reinforced glass one like those we saw at the World Cup with corrupt twats like Marathingy sittin just behind em looking through it most of the match when not sniffin stuff

Then sell more seats in that corner where people can actually see the pitch. Simples.

First and foremost need the Training facilities to be upgraded first. Hopefully they get Wilder involved and ask him what he needs and let him build the foundations. Ground can come at a later stage.

I've heard him say this in an interview, but I've watched that many lately I couldn't tell you which.

If our sports science team get a wedge there's a good chance our players will be categorised as super human next season.

Are you suggesting the club should improve the corporate facilities before or after we strengthen the side?

They are going to have to address things like catering now we are going to be full each week. Why not have folk selling bottles in them back packs to help reduce queues for a start?

Get that PA system fixed in the Westfield Upper corner...can’t hear a damn thing...maybe a good thing though?;)
