The Prince has had zero impact on how we’ve done this. If we had succeeded with clough it would have carried more weight but the prince lost interest a while back and seemingly has only shown interest again when things became interesting.

Isn’t that what happens though. Maybe the Prince thought he had bought into something good but realised it may take a lot of money and time ( impatience/patience is the key).
Now we are in the Prem he may see the millions upon millions on offer and think that it’s time to have a go.
Rightly or wrongly he has to show us the money as was suggested when he first came onboard.

And for me, you make the point brilliantly.
Why would we want someone at the club who lost interest when it got a little tough. He has no clue about football, no clue about the club or fans so “I’m out”

Stop it. When he first came in he improved aspects of the club that enabled us to play better football. The fact you say he's done nowt is just wrong.
 
Wilder talked about owners being custodians of the club only and the club belonging to the people who come every week. That part of the interview should be shown on national tv or youtube, like the Northampton rant. IMO that is the most important message at the moment. Sheff Utd is not some rich man's plaything or ego brush; it is a beacon in the local community, something that binds people together. He will never get a job with a club owned by such an owner as they will not like the bruises he gives their egos. It's for that reason that I hope McCabe wins the ownership fight.
 
We seem to have had less of a connection with the Prince since people like Jim Phipps left the board. We know that didn’t quite work out as planned but his passion for the club I found quite brilliant. I imagine they would have been the Prince’s eyes and ears that were close to the club when he couldn’t have been.

Jim was also rather interactive on social media too and you could tell the vision was always there. I think they were all aware it would take time to achieve what we have done now.

My guess would be that since that time Prince hasn’t been as involved as McCabe would like him to be and hence the tension began. Im most probably completely wrong but there’s my theory on the whole situation.

True but it's interesting that Grizzly says it's interesting that he's showing interest now that it is interesting.
 
Problem is going to come if he's the type of overseas owner, who wants an overseas manager, who will want a load of cheaper overseas players to play. tippy tappy premiership football .....:rolleyes:

Fair point...the pitch and arrival of players in Clough tenure that ultimately had a huge impact on wilders side could be attributed to have helped.
But that’s as far as I would go.
This last 12 months his assistance has been neglibable.
 
has anyone else noticed the sudden influx of arabic accounts replying to our tweets with saudi flag emojis and pictures of the prince holding the flag up, lauding him as the architect of our success? I wonder if he's working on a propaganda scheme out there making out like this has all been his doing

So, we've gone from equal involvement of the Prince, to him paying someone who may now not be there all the time to not having a clue.

None of the McCabes group or HRH's team on the board are paid by the club.

Genuine question, are you pro the Prince or anti McCabe?

Kev Mc is, or at least I seem to have seen him there quite a few times this season.

He stood pitch side, at the end of the game on Saturday, and virtually every player came over and hugged him, not a polite hand shake and a nod of the head, there seemed to be genuine friendship, to my eyes anyway. As I have said before, I spent some time talking to him after the Brentford game (10 men, 2-0 win), and he was obviously so proud of the team, and talked with great knowledge about each and every player, kept saying "what Chris and Alan have done to this club", he was convinced (100% convinced) that we were going up back then, he even said "you mark my words", or something like that, he Sheffield United through and through.

The Prince?, maybe, I have never met the man.

By equal I meant investment, I said they both pay people not the club. It makes no difference whether the Prince is there to mash tea on a Monday morning.

Honestly I am anti McCabe ( not in a personal want him to get hit by a car way) , I feel his time was over a long time ago.

Tbh with regards to the prince I’m just trying to balance it up a bit. Pro McCabe people are quite unfairly imo attributing the success to him and not the prince. Personally I attribute it to Wilder despite the two.

I would lean towards the prince as I genuinely believe he would be more likely/able to sell. That is all. I don’t think he could realistically be our sole owner just like McCabe. I just don’t like this one sided narrative and this fear of anything that isn’t a Blade. McCabes time will be up in the near future regardless, we will have to take the plunge at some stage.
