Why I'm a Blade

Hey fellow Blades,

I haven't properly introduced myself and thought it would be good to do so now.

As I put on one of my earlier posts, this is the first season that I have watched the Blades and am quite glad that I have done so. As I put, I found a home shirt at a local thrift shop (Looked it up later, was shirt from 03/04 season) and began to look into the history of the club, watched some highlights, etc.

Most of my other American friends were fans of the same teams, mainly Man United, Man City, Arsenal, etc. I had been looking for an English team to support, but did not want to fall in line as it were and support one of these as everyone else was. I wanted a team that had passionate fans who really loved their club, and also one that I could feel a part of.

Overall, I have immensely enjoyed watching the Blades this season and even though just a fan for a short period of time now, am so happy and proud of what we have done this season.

I love the club already and am looking forward to what the future brings us.

Good for you Mr Yank. Anyone can pretend to support one of the glamour teams in any one sport, but it takes something a little different to plump for a non fashionable team. Luckily for you you chose the Blades who arent just a club, but a way of life. United will get under your skin and become your club.

Utd have given me many a disappointment and broken my heart at times, but when they come good, it makes you so happy.

I also decided to support a team of no hopers when I was in Kansas City and Independence. Became a big fan of The Royals who were totally crap. Kept following them and 15 years later they were World Champions. Hope there's a moral somewhere.

Actually work with a few British guys at my job so used to saying mate to them. 'Yee-Haw boys!' work better for ya?

Went there last year mate. To Greensboro, Winston Salem and Raleigh. Great part of America!! Went to the Wake County Speedway which was an experience . Don't think they'd ever seen an English bloke before!!
