Still not forgotten David Hopkin mind, that was in my view the worst play off defeat because we had hope then we'd actually win it! 7 more losing play offs on and we're more numb to it now! Which is why going up automatically is just so amazing! Shame you haven't still got Tracksuit from Matalan Goal keeper, who's name escapes me!? He was a decent keeper too.

Wasn’t that Kharine at Chelsea? The most long-standing Palace keeper I can remember was Speroni, he was married to that bird singer from Texas

They also once had a goalie called Bill Glazier, who they signed because his surname was the same as their nickname at the time, which is an interesting scouting tactic...

Thanks mate, the Hopkins final apart I always liked Palace, & thinking of them reminds me of a couple I was friends with a few years ago who had a partially deaf little lad about 8 years ago; he lip read what people said & always thought Crystal Palace were actually called "50 pallets"!

Cheers Glad! I was at Wembley 1997 with my little lad, Esteemed Forgeblade (who's not little anymore). He was miserable and we were on the tube going back to central London, and will never forget your fan's kindness towards him, not taking the piss, and joking about coming back down the following season (which I believe you did!). Was fortunate enough to play at Selhurst Park last summer and had a soft spot for Palace since!

Similar to Burnley and Huddersfield too but I had optimism as a young lad that we'd win Palace, by the Burnley and Huddersfield games I was not very confident and used to play off defeat.

Never turned up. Against Burnley I recall we were 1 down after 10 mins or so and never launched an attack. Beattie Craig was shite as was Ward.
