Female singer with a very good voice accompanied by a bloke on acoustic guitar.
Going through their usual set but occasionally drowned out by jubilant Blades fans going through theirs.
Somehow the stars suddenly aligned and she sang a song which the Blades also had a version of.
Bloke behind the bar (possibly Landlord?) said to me “that’s a bit of luck everyone singing along like that”
“Ask her to sing “Annie’s song” if you want to hear everyone sing” I replied.
“Really? Do you think they will” said he, sounding genuinely surprised
“It won’t be the same words but they’ll definitely sing”
Off he trots to have a quick word with the performing artistes, followed a few seconds later by the unmistakable intro.
“You fill up my senses” chorus the Blades
“Wait for it...” says the singer
Then she starts us off properly and roams round the bar with the mic while Blades take their turn wirh a line each like it’s “Band Aid 2019”
Happy memory logged of a great day. Anyone else there?

Yep. My favourite was "We've got Billy Sharp, Billy Sharp, We've got Billy Sharp." We were wondering if they'd planned their set-list because all of a sudden there's all these songs that we have our own words to.

I think other people started requesting them after “Annie’s song”.
I saw the singer shaking her head at one point.
I’m not sure which particular request she had drawn the line at

"I'm a knock-kneed chicken, I'm a bow-legged hen? Never heard of it luv!"

There were loads of people videoing it, sure something will pop up on twatter or similar today.

I'm probably the only person who was in that place last night that feels fresh this morning :p

I thought they managed the situation really well.

No egos just played to the audience.

I was surprised and delighted at how lively it was in there after the game.

Maybe not my old buddy.

I think the width of my smile has convinced my body that all is well.
