In seriousness though, I did a bit of work with an organization in Leeds recently who managed to secure getting channel four to relocate there. They get significant investment into the Leeds/Huddersfield area.

They were saying that it’s incredible how much difference it makes having a premier league team, in terms of being a city that can get companies to come to the table and chat. With Hudds going down, they were desperate for Leeds to go up, else struggle to get some people to even entertain their cities as an option.

Hopefully, if we do go up, this could mean it genuinely could help Sheffield and surroundings attract big business and investment into the community.

Was an eye opener. I wouldn’t have thought it would make such a difference. But it seems that to move your company to a city, many CEOs want that city to have a sporting eliteness

My immediate thought was the same but then think about the number of people sat in front of Sky and hearing the word 'Sheffield' repeatedly, it's almost a brain washing advertisement.

It would definitely be a boost to the city. Just the affluent away fans from the south coming up, 3,000 at a time, many of whom will stay over at a hotel and make a night of it, will make a difference.

Not, if it's only us, our nearest away games are Manchester and Leicester. Seems too much bother

Needs a team in the prem next year. Fancy it?

Nah not really

However, there's a team on the other side of the city who are desperate to get up. They keep telling us how they belong there and everyone in the Prem and EFL long for them to be there and because they took 40k to Wembley way back when that means they deserve to be there.

You could have a word with them. Unfortunately tho, they're sh!te. Oh and they cheat with FFP

Are you sure? I though it had been demolished
Why should the fact it has been demolished (I assume you mean Don Valley Stadium) change anything? SCC have kept refinancing the debt, imsome is still outstanding as far as I’m aware.

Sorry bib, I was being sarcastic. DVS cost £147 million and it seems they still owe £150million, paying it off at £30million a year till 2024. It almost makes Amey's £2,200,000,000 Streets Ahead contract seem a bargain. SCC, never knowingly not fucking up.
