In recent weeks, Ipswich have avoided defeat against West Brom, Birmingham, Derby, Stoke and Bristol City.

Three teams in there we’ve lost to and the remaining two, Brum and Stoke, we haven’t beaten.

I’m excited too, and I think we’ll win, but let’s remember their players will be playing for pride, for ruining a promotion day and possibly for the shop window.

Don’t mean to be doom and gloom, but Wilder will be stamping out any complacency in that dressing room!

Excellent and well made points Sheff.
It would be folly to get too carried away.
Now, who would you like first up, Spurs, City,...?

There will be no complacency in the team, Ipswich are down and have nothing to lose. What's better than messing up someone's promotion push when your on the way down the L1? Play how we usually play, work hard, respect the opposition but don't give them too much respect and I think we'll get the win.

But it's just as important for everyone at the Lane to get behind the lads from the KO.

I think that to fuck this up, it would really be THE fuck up of all fuck ups.
I've now gone from extatic to nervous, as I know how good we are at this sort of thing.

My sentiments entirely.
If ever we had the right man to see us through its Wilder.

I’ve got to be honest, I’ve never seen a teams fans as much as ours telling everyone to be cautious against the shittest side in the league when we are one of the best, only in S2. :)

How can the fans get behind the team and install confidence in the players if all we are told to do is to be cautious?

We are, by some distance, a better side than Ipswich and if the team apply themselves as they should and not the fans then we’ll be fine, how about that for cautiousness? :)

Hull had not lost at home since November.
Blackburn had not lost a home game since August 1987.
We have kept 20, yes 20 clean sheets this season.
George Long is not in goal.
Didsy is on fire.
The performance at Hull was superb (sorry to mention Hull again).
We will be fine.
enjoy the weekend Blades, they don't come around too often.

Agree. We could really do with an early goal to settle us down (even then i think ibwould be shitting it until we are 3 up with 5 to play) and I think we will take the game away from them comfortably.

The longer it stays nil nil though (or heaven forbid we go behind) could see us press the panic button.

Be professional United and get the job done with no fuss and no drama. I'd suggest 5 quick goals and then you can relax for the rest of the match....or is that too much to ask for ?

If it should stay 0-0 for a while, the key will be the fans. If we get behind them, driving them on, we’ve got the skill to get a breakthrough. So stay positive, no matter what. WE CAN DO IT!

Ipswich have no reason to fear losing or park the bus. That plays right into our hands. Nor will their players be interested in a fight back or risking injury. Our lads will be playing like their lives depend on it. Crowd should be immense. Our wonderful defence at full strength. Every reason to be confident we can win.

Have to agree with the OP, Too many seem to think it’s job done. Just hope the team don’t.

We really could end up with egg on our faces but saying that its other club fans including Leeds who are saying it’s all over.

Ive seen more posts from others talking like that than I have Blades. However if we blow it from here I’m emigrating.

Hopefully then, if we don't beat them, neither will Leeds on the final day so it won't matter :D

Very good points, well made. I'm trying (unsuccessfully) to keep grounded.

Personally the way we went about the Hull game, has given me a lot of confidence.

I'd love us to be 2 or 3 up at half time.

The fans will be first to press the panic button, that’s for sure. Perhaps the answer to all the caution and anxiety is to get behind our team like never before? A sure-fire antidote for Bladey n

What a home run by Blackburn!!

Too many posts about this now. Lets all just be confident, expectant but not arrogant. In football anything can happen but we have to be realistic in thinking we should win this one with a bit to spare. If we don't we will do what we have done all season and bounce back to win the following game.

Best post of the last 3 Days.

The key here is Chris Wilder.
You can guarantee that CW will be fully aware of the pitfalls.
Fortunately for us, Leeds failed against Wigan only last week, so we can learn from their downfall.

Our fans might be getting carried away and rightly so
But CW will have it all in hand, there will be no complacency about Ipswich.
We will approach the game very focussed, like we did in the Hull City game.

Im looking at this way, in their last 4 games they have 1 point and a -7 goal difference.

Fuck that. Right off.

Enjoy the next 3 days at work. Give it to every fucking Wednesday/Leeds/Barnsley/Rotherham fan you see. Talk about who you want first/last/on Boxing Day. Talk about who you want us to sign next year.
What’s football without fans dreaming?

We are one of the best sides in the division and we are facing the worst. The players look refocused and re-energised and they WILL get the job done. Anyone at Hull can agree with me on that. If 30k people are all nervous because it’s still 0-0 after 6 minutes that will transcend onto the pitch and things could get a bit tougher. Turn Bramall Lane into a couldron of joy and noise and we’ll steamroll them.

We’ve earned this - and I’m damned if I’m letting the thought of being ‘cautious’ in the way of me having a bloody fantastic time winding the fans who’ve given us hammer for 7 or so years up on our way to seal promotion back to the Premier League.

We’re the only fanbase in the world who would be pleading for caution from the stands on the lead up to a game in which you play rock bottom, already relegated fodder at home. Leeds forum would be a complete carnival, Pork Talk would be, every other forum would be.

Bask in it, enjoy it, and if it SOMEHOW all goes tits up - just wear it. We’ve handled 6 years of League One and been beaten to promotion by our fiercest rivals, nothing can top it and you lived through that.

Enjoy it. It’s what we’re in football for.

Could have posted in the "bit of caution for Saturday" thread not the look at me thread.

Fair enough and I get all of that, especially the 'after 6 years of eating shit' thing, but can't you just wait a few more days?

After all if you've put up with the crap for 6 years, another week or see to then see it 'official' on the BBC and everywhere else.

Personally I'm waiting for a green 'Confirmed' tag.

It won’t even be official on Saturday if we win - so what are we going to do? Not celebrate?
