Cant be ecstatic with tonight’s result because we didn’t take 3pts.
Can’t be angry because it was a decent away performance, only undone by a set-play.
No world-beaters, but no scapegoats.
Not sure if 1pt gained on Leeds over last two games, or 2pts dropped tonight.
On this rollercoaster of knee-jerk reactions and flips between unbridled joy and despair, I really don’t know how to take tonight’s result.
All it’s done is made me hungry for the next game...grab a win against Millwall and the pressure’s firmly back on the Scum (& whisper it quietly, the Piggies are in decent form).
Strap in chaps, it’s going to be a bumpy ride...and I’m feeling queasy already
 



We'll never know if its a good point until the end of the season I guess. I don't feel too disappointed because we're only one point behind and Leeds have some tough games to play, and they have the next 4 to play after we do. Much rather us go first then them, to be honest. Onwards.

It’s the context though innit - flip Saturday’s and the mid-week fixtures and we’re all happy that we’re back in the hunt for the auto’s! It’s the hope that kills ya...and before kick off tonight I was very hopeful
 
I had to drop points Saturday and at Brum, but still go up automatically.

The Hull game is now the one that worries me the most. We’ll win the rest.
 
It's a good point, but a shite performance.
And that's the worrying thing, we haven't looked anything like our usual selves for weeks, it's becoming, nervy, slow and ponderous, and I can't remember the last time our marauding centre backs and full backs played any sizeable chunk of a game in the opponents half
 
We have stopped playing "on the front foot" (CW's phrase). I can't imagine it's the manager's choice. Maybe the players are affected by nerves ?

I am slightly worried at the moment with how we'd cope of a team went for us. We almost dropped a few clangers at the back last night. If a team unexpectedly presses high against us, I think we might crack.
 
Is it that we aren’t playing so much on the front foot as Keen points out because of the players nerves or is it that we are playing a different style and reducing the amount of goals we concede? We left ourselves wide open for counter attack playing everyone forward?

ITS funny, but every pundit interviewed lately puts in second at close of play!?
All say Leeds have a harder job to do, all say were better equipped to do it??
I just hope they're all right!!

I'm fairly satisfied with a point, as there's still a fair way to go yet. As the OP said though, all it's made me is itching for the Millwall game.

Or maybe, as Dean Ashton said on Quest, our 'marauding CB style' has been sussed? It leaves the opponents 'light' in defence by countering this style but - to exploit this - we need highly-mobile, powerful strikers. Somebody like Che Adams.

I thought it was game over after the Brizzle defeat according to many. I can't see either us or Leets imploding so it's likely to be small margins and maybe last night costs us, maybe it's a point which could make the difference given our goal difference. We could draw on Saturday, Leets lose and we're back in front.

I was thinking during the game last night, if we didn't know anything about his history, we'd be saying he's exactly the player we'd be looking at.

Because getting promoted would be life changing for our team and staff. What’s mystifying about that? I bet Leeds look nervy on Saturday too. I don’t think we’ve looked that different really. We played against a team set up to stop us from playing. We’ve faced the same earlier in the season and struggled to break them down, just like last night.

We’ve rarely battered teams this season, many games have been tight affairs.

And then someone would point out that he’s valued at £15m + and we couldn’t afford him.

Sky did an analysis on how much he’s improved since he was with us, what Brum have taught him, how he’s upped his work rate etc. And according to the commentator, he wanted to leave.

His last year with us was a bit stop start and I thought he was building a good partnership with Billy in his last few months but it was clear he had attitude issues (Adkins made no bones about it by dropping him) and it was no surprise he went when he did to a higher Division. He'll doubtless end up at Southampton or Bournemouth in the Summer and we can all lament about how we let 'another one go for sily money' :)

Looks to be going the same was as Callum Wilson to me, exactly what we'll need whichever division we're in.

I think, to put it bluntly, he was a fat lazy prick who’s now grown up a bit and realises what a great opportunity he has and how lucky he is to be a professional footballer.
