At the start of this season we could’ve signed several strikers for several millions (Martyn Waghorn, Jack Marriott, Adam Armstrong) but instead we decided to show a lack of ambition and signed McGoldrick on a free instead.

I’ve said it before that some fans would rather us sign a player for £10m than a player just as good for free, just so they can say we’ve spent something.
