Can we win the league?

Nice to see people throwing the towel in already with 8 games remaining.

Thankfully you can bet that CW will be having none of that.
 



United have constantly shown the type of self belief and determination that will be required if they are to win every remaining game.

The 100 point haul in Division One was achieved by never allowing our standards or efforts to drop, despite already being comfortably promoted.

It is that strong collective mindset, that I believe will see United have a very strong finish. The question is can Norwich City and Leeds United match us?

I personally don’t believe any team can match us in this department, it is why we are where we are ;)

There is nothing between the top three clubs, either one of them could win the title or finish second or third.

Norwich however are four points clear and have the easiest run in.

I will gladly take second place.
 
Think we are well overdue another trophy. In my lifetime we’ve only ever lifted 2 pieces of competitive silverware for coming first. It would be nice to lift one of the most famous trophies in the English game.
 
Bloody Hell, what a pessimistic bunch. One loss and they are just one point ahead with an inferior goal difference. Can't see Norwich winning every match and with eight to go anything could happen. I've seen us drag defeat out of the jaws of victory so many times but if someone had asked if we would have taken second with eight to go I bet most would have jumped at it. I'd rather be in Norwich's shoes, but the ones we have at the moment are not that bad. It's been a great season.
 
Will we win the league? No.
Will we get promoted? No.
Will I still be watching the mighty Blades at BDTBL next season? Yes.

Some of us have. I always have a wry smile when people award trophies before Easter. They ‘just ain’t been around’, as someone once said.

Why does everything we think, say or do have to be conditioned by reference to other clubs?

What’s wrong with taking pride in our own club and saying “yes, we can do it”?
 
As long as the aim is to win the League we've got a chance

If Leeds and West Brom faded away and we were almost given 2nd place too many past Sheffield United teams would accept it and kindly allow Norwich to win the title.

I want the title and I believe Wilder and the team wants it as well

I think you're missing the point somewhat.

It's not about pulling our own club down.

It's acknowledging that there's a club 4 points ahead who haven't shown any real signs of weakness and have the easier run in.

It's also about those who are almost acting as if the job has already been done.

There's nothing wrong whatsoever in being confident and having belief in our team. They should rightly have that from the fans.

Spot on. Kevin Pullein of the Racing Post is the daddy of them all when it comes to football statistics. His latest article in the Racing and Football Outlook examines the Football League run-in over ten seasons 1997-98 to 2017-18. His findings reveal that teams who did well in the first 38 games generally also did well in the last eight,--------- but on average not quite so well ! Anything can yet happen to change current perceptions.
 
Of cause we can, however we can also finish 4th and lose in semi final of play offs

Norwich keep shipping goals and may have a couple of games where it just won't go in so it is possible but they know how to win and keep getting results so unlikely. My worry is our games against Preston, Bristol and Hull. The others I feel more confident about. If we do drop points there Leeds have their goalie out for three and that dickhead Jansson out for possibly two so could drop points also.
 



CW will demand and strive for every point available from every match. He will begrudge and curse every point lost. Whether we finish top by a fair margin or miss out on the automatics, his attitude will not change.

Finishing top will certainly be a very sweet icing on the cake.
