Changed the dynamic of the game we had to sit deep and soak it up would we have been able to acheave that with 11-11.We were certainly struggling containing there movement,after sending off it certainly focused us on being really tight Sat tiebacks.

Definitely not, yes it made us fight a little harder but in that we ran so much last night. We went from being on top, slight back and forth game to a one sided game for 60mins trapped in our own half.

Just had the feeling they were getting on top and there movement was fantastic.
We tightened up just wonder if we would have been as tight with eleven,to a man we were organised and defended for our lives.
Great win under the circumstances.

I wouldn't say it helped us, but I've long thought that there's not the expected advantage to the team who still have eleven men. By definition, the 10-man team re-arrange and adjust their tactics (which won't have been in their opponents' 'game plan'). The ten men often collectively raise their game etc.

However - against an extremely quick, mobile and alert team like Brentford, you'd expect them to exploit the inevitable spaces. That they didn't is to United's enormous credit.

I know exactly where you're coming from. I was going to post the same thing, but thought I'd get a load of abuse.
For me Madine upsets the set up of the team. Henderson kicks it long far too often and whilst Madine occasionally gets on the end of them, its a waste compared to building from the back. So losing Madine from the next few matches also means we can revert back to the tactics which have got us where we are. Its a win win situation

It didn't help us last night, we were overrun for large parts of the game, and it certainly won't have helped our preps for Saturday - I suspect that at least one of the midfield won't make it through another game of that intensity. Brentford started really well but we were exerting control until the sending off - I couldn't wait for the half-time whistle after that!

I agree with the o. p.
We were struggling to contain them before the sending off, and with 11 men the neg. vibes would have been unbearable with crowd pressure to attack more. In a way the decision to defend solidly and in the end heroicly was made for us.
Not something anyone can prove, but it's a valid opinion.

My main concern is how much that has taken out of us for Satdi.
