Majority of them comments are sensible imo. We do have balls, we were excellent tonight, we did deserve it in the end.

The Pig-like bashing of our players isn't completely unmerited; no team in the world would pay more than 2mill for Basham, but he plays like he's worth 10mill to us.

Maupay will go for millions, we got Didzy on a free.

And I fucking love it.

Thought they were a good side to be honest, and it looked as though it was going to be a good high intensity game until the sending off.

I was in the John St stand opposite the Madine incident and thought it looked like a clumsy daft challenge worthy of a yellow but never a red.
Have to say I didn't think we'd get anything from the game after that, well done the lads, battling performance well deserved result, chuffed for McGoldrick, I take back all my unkind comments made in the heat of the moment when he chose to pass instead of shoot before his goal.

Lets let bygones be bygones. :)

You lot don't half get your knickers in a twist don't you? Most of the comments were fair enough, a few throw away comments, couple of tossers.

Some might say forums are made up of individual posters and comments, neither of which form a consensus? (I'd hope!).
If they do the same we have one or three wet wipes too.

“Not sure they were that impressive…. before we gifted them the first they were chasing shadows and couldn’t get near us.
Having said that they defended well until we gifted them a second. “

The gift that keeps on giving - loving it.

Heroes - perfect accompaniment.

Cheers Roy.

Like a parody set of comments.

Another team where most of ours wouldn't get in... They had zero humility on day one of last season, and they still have.

This 'I would not swap any of ours or none of theirs would get in our team' comment is ridiculous. These are mid table teams saying this? If that is what they are happy with it - fair play - enjoy mid table.

Egan and O'Connell do not suit their style - what tippy, tappy mid table. If they had a few players like that they would be higher. Maybe they woudl rather watch a pretty but mostly ppunchless mid table side?

Fans of other clubs and certain pundits think they can insult us with comments like “hardworking” and “well drilled”
Well the last time I looked, football is a team game and always will be. So by definition these clubs with expensively assembled individuals that aren’t doing as well as us are obviously.............poor teams.

Can you imagine doing a performance review at a company like these plebs call football.

"Mr Cutler is very hardworking, and is always aware of his duties and what he should be doing for the good of the business. Together with his colleagues he is part of a great unit which very rarely fails in it's given task. It is therefore my recommendation that we terminate his contract and those of his team with immediate effect and seek a less effective group of employees."

What's this 'our style doesn't suit Egan & O'Connell' nonsense? Do Brentford not like people who can defend playing centre half? As we know, Jack is more than capable at taking the ball forwards and attacking, so I really can't see what some of their fans are getting at.

These London clubs have hubris by the shitload. I remember seeing United play 3rd division Watford in the FA cup in the 60’s and there were bundles of hay in the stand.
These clubs have big money investors solely because of where there are. The North to the Brentford fans is another country.
The way Brentford defended both OC and Egan would be a giant plus in their tippy tappy team.
Well done Roy, yes they were heroes and apart from Madine who showed crass stupidity they deserve all the accolades.

JOC and Egan don’t suit their ‘style’. They think they would be higher in the table if they defended better. Ergo their style is partly poor defending. JOC and Egan are too good for them, and that’s why they are in a title race while their former club languishes in mid table.

Also a note to all fans of the other 23: your comments about not swapping for any of our players are pointless. None of our squad would swap the Blades for you.

It must be a tough team support as behind the badge and the kit is no real identity just a factory /process line that could be anywhere taking cheap foreign imports and trying to polish them up to saleable assets
Every now and again you will threaten the play offs and get so excited you will forget this and start to think results are important to your club but that won't last

Taking last night in isolation he wasn't as roving as he normally is due to the circumstances of the game. They don't watch us every week so don't know how he plays.

There's an assumption on here that everyone should know our playing style by now, they don't. It's not worth getting your knickers in a twist about though.

There are certain pre-conceptions in the game of football e.g. Man U scoring late goals, Leeds being dirty bastards, Mourinho teams being boring to watch, Dutch teams being 'total football', Pigs being massive, Blades being hoof merchants. Some are true and others aren't, however they will remain forever. I could tell you nothing about the way any of the other teams in the division play apart from the games they play against us so I am ignorant as well to an extent and will base my comments on other teams against how they play against us.

Funny how your view can be different when you watch a match on the red button (because it's obvious that most Bees fans did...)

Here's a view from somebody who was at the match. Thomas Frank, Brentford manager.

Very fair comments from Frank to be fair. I think he calls everything spot on in his interview. Seems that he's not in total agreement with some of the puddings who support his team and have ideas above their station.

I admire anyone who supports Brentford, rather than the fashionable clubs Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal.

What a strange set of fans the Brentford mob are, you would think they are collectively suffering from depression the way they see things in black or white. On one hand you read comments from honest knowledgable fans who can give credit to other teams then on the other hand we read the ridiculous from fans who see Brentford as some kind of Arsenal or Barcelona who should just rock up to a game with their fancy flicks and tippy tappy style and pick up the 3pts.
Some Wendyesque, some bitter and some plain ridiculously deluded comments below ...............

“They work hard as a team and get their rewards. I still wouldn’t swap most of their side for most of ours though.

“29 shots, 70% possession. Conceded a second against the run of play. Stereotypical game. Never mind. We go again Saturday! Come on Brentford!”

“Beaten by a dogged, workmanlike and quite unappealing team. If they go up, us and several other clubs will see a big opportunity missed. Fair play to them. Like Cardiff last year, they just got it done.”

“Not sure they were that impressive…. before we gifted them the first they were chasing shadows and couldn’t get near us.
Having said that they defended well until we gifted them a second. “

“Their substitutions were made out of sheer desperation.”

“Even a against 10 men a team in 14th shouldn’t be going away to the team in 3rd and dominating like that.”

“Leeds will beat Sheffield on Saturday, they are nothing special. Just we bottled it”

“I know. 8 behind the ball and hoof.
I would love it. “

Cheers Roy. Some quite silly comments but in there TBH. Loved the comment about Egan being slow whilst turning!!!.
Clearly nobody told their manager or any of their players?. Surely a couple would have remembered if he’s that slow?. UTB

I realise a lot of posters are of the "what game were they watching?" school, but honestly the majority of those comments were much more reasonable than I was expecting.

It doesn't matter which team it is, or what level they're at, there is an unwritten rule that fans who consider their own team to be the epitome of football style will label pretty much everyone else as agricultural hoof merchants, regardless of reality.

Brentford are no different. I also think it's great that they have a decent support base for an area with a lot of competing, bigger clubs, but although I thought their comments were very fair overall, some of their number ought to remember that without the £100,000,000 their owner has thrown in they'd probably be where Leyton Orient are right now.
