We have a huge week, as mentioned by CW in his post match interview.

Brentford is for me a bigger game than Leeds - we can't afford to drop home points. Lose to Brentford and Leeds the gap could be 8 points.

This week could change things in a very big way - we must be on it for Brentford. They have a game in hand and have every reason to think, especially with their form of late that they can easily make the play offs. If we aren't on it the dreaded play off words could be in our conversations.

One loss in 14 has all but guaranteed our play off place. And I don’t think a Blade exists who wouldn’t have taken that before a ball was kicked.

That incredible run has, of course, made people believe we can achieve more. But it has also made people forget what a fantastic achievement the play-offs are.

Just the small matter of there being 7 teams in front of them in the queue for 6th place already guarantees that.

We have never done give play offs under Wilder. Different ball game to the rest

Was thinking just the same about Brum / Villa game. Villa to have everything to play for is in our favour. Hopefully if Brum go off the boil they won’t be on it against us.

Agree with that M'head. No amount of praying will be able to make their dreams come true. I love the fact that they actually believe it's possible, so when the truth kicks in they'll wonder what hit 'em. There's always next season, but there's also the prospect a points deduction so there's a double whammy waiting to slap 'em round the face. Couldn't happen to a more deserving club and chairman.

I think West Brom and Boro will finish where they are now, and only 6th is still up for grabs, in my opinion.

Of the current contenders Derby, Brizzle, and maybe Villa are just too inconsistent. Preston and Forest are the two who I would keep an eye on.

I suspect that Hull, Brentford and the Pigs have left too much to do.

Can you imagine being in the playoffs with West Brom, Boro and Forest? We'd certainly be the footballing team in there but they would be horrid teams to come up against.

agree wholeheartedly with that ,reaching the play offs would have been as big an achievement as I've ever seen by a blades manager but competing for top two is incredible
Its a shame that we can't really enjoy it as the fight for top two is a nerve wracking experience whereas if we were just outside the play offs and in with a shout of top 6 it would probably be a lot less pressure

I disagree. If we were just outside the playoffs that would put us just 4 or 5 points above the pigs and that would bring a whole new sort of pressure, i.e. that of the exact kind we could do without. I also doubt we would be dismissing their chances as many are doing now. We're better off where we are.

Hadn't really thought of it like that I guess Its just a shame that we can't be happy about being in the play offs because at the moment they are a booby prize for not finishing top two is what I meant

I’m sure Wilder will be instilling it in the players about what an achievement it is being on this many points already. I doubt he’ll allow it to be the case that we enter the play-offs with a deflated group.

Could be any of them down to Swansea, but even Stoke players were on the local radio this week saying they could do it if they "win 3 or 4 on the bounce", which is probably true. It'd a crazy league
