Pigs Already So so Confident

They would have feared the worst 4 weeks ago, now they're on a decent run, albeit against bottom half teams, so are more confident. The crowd do make a difference and they will now be up for it more than they would have been. We saw what happened 2nd half last season and but for the timing of Duffs goal it might have been different. Will be a tough game.

Take a look at their site and most of the comments are they will beat us 3-0 some even 5-0

I don’t think so my little piglet friends in Swillsborough. Let’s see how you cope with us, because I personally think you won’t be able to handle us.
Already looking forward to the 'Pre-Match view from'

It won't be anywhere near as easy as some seem to think. Bruce has already got them better organised and playing with confidence. I worry if Egan hasn't recovered as I think Stearman will get bullied by Fletcher.

Any sort of victory would be fantastic.

Anyone thinking this is easy doesn't know football, simple.

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this before but I’m not reyt keen on the pigs. :)

I fucking hate the bastards, which why it'll be 20 times worse if the unthinkable happens and the twats have dozens of "We'll smash them" comments from various corners of the internet to shove down our throats.

I just don't want what happened to their fans in September '17 to happen to us, basically.

I think Madine will bully Hector and they will struggle to cope out wide. As for Fletcer, always been a good pplayer but he isn't a player in the bully mode

I’ve seen far more confident and arrogant posts from our own fans regarding the derby compared to theirs. It’s how we end up with egg on our face. Fair enough if we win and you feel the need to gloat then wait until the final whistle ffs. They’ll be even more unbearable if they win with some of the predictions of us smashing them etc.

They’ve done fairly well recently and have certainly improved since Jos left.

I feel a weird mixture of nervousness, anticipation and excitement. I’m no where near confident we’ll win. I’m 100% confident Wilder will have done his homework, the lads will be up for it and give it a damn good go but form usually goes out of the window for a derby and owt can happen!

There's a lot of posturing from their lot now - no fear, 3-0 predictions etc.

But what I do find utterly utterly baffling is that the result seems to be playing second fiddle to some of them.

Their greatest call to arms isn't to their team, but to the fans to turn up and show the world how big a club they are. Seriously, it's like all they seem to care about.

It's all they've got. Won't go up, won't go down.

In the grand scheme of things you are indeed correct, that whatever happens on a football forum will have no relevance to the result on the field of play, I’m glad we got that sorted. :)
It doesn't have an impact on the field of play but it has an impact on why fans are nervous about the end outcome. Turning up to work the next day and all you hear about is the fact that you've lost, and all the other stuff that goes with it. All your mates who are pigs fans rubbing it in your face like we did last season.

Last season's game at Hillsborough for me was all about rubbing it in Wednesday fans' faces, not about the position we were in the league.

This time it's different, it's about where we are in the league and also about the fans :)

Glad we got that sorted :)

Yep, exactly the same. Tbh, I thought we were overconfident as a fan base ahead of both of the 0-0 games – to the extent that even 1-0 wins wouldn’t have been enough for those that had been expecting wins of Boxing Day proportions. We know from experience that anything can happen in these games. We are going into it in great form. But we were 3rd and going well back in November too. A win is far from guaranteed. I never look forward to these games, they are always stress-fests as far as I’m concerned. I expect Monday will be no different.

Pigs will be up for this game as it is their "Cup Final", they have realistically little else to play for this season other than to get one over on us... and the faint hope of the play offs which hopefully will be receding after Monday.

We’ll agree to disagree then as I’ll never get nervous about playing that shower of a football club.

As I’ve just said in another thread, when we’re away I’ll nip for a pint and they’ll be in the club watching telly, even though they’re at home they’ll still be there (some in shirts) watching Jeff stelling, even though they’ve been shit for a season and a half, even though the ground is ten minutes away and they aren’t in it, they go on about United and how much better Wendy are, the delusion is so real it’s frightening..

Did anybody not expect them to go all big bollocks after a few half decent results? ... hope it brings them out of thier shell for a change and we get a good game, but they should be more worried about us as we “end thier season” on Monday regardless of weather they get a result, this is season over for them... nothing left to play for..

With the surprise win at West Brom, we are on target for points over three games so long as we win the next home game..

It matters Monday yeah, but not that much in what we’re trying to achieve overall.. I never get over confident, I’ll leave that to pigs who don’t go !

who those what will happen , as said above CWAK will do their homework and we have plenty of options to go for

it is a derby so it could be a dodgy penalty /sending off/lucky goal etc that decides it
i would guess that cabbage man will try and get them all guns blazing and go for us from the off - try and nick a goal and then sit on it -

we could also start as we do allot of games and also come out blazing , could make a cracking game to watch - or be a typical derby and nervous / dull affair !

personally i think it may work out better for us that they have won a few and will have a bit more belief - as many West Brom fans had

Fact is , we are one of the best sides in this league and been top 6 virtually all season - They have not played a team of our quality , organization , confidence , options, for a long time
a repeat of Friday would be fine by me , having said that if i could take a 0-0 now i would and move on

They are actually fifth in the form guide, so regardless of the quality of the opposition, their confidence must be growing. I'm getting a bit nervous.

I don’t ever go on their forums but chat with my piggy mates and it’s amazing what a few decent results does for their confidence.

They’re still upset that we ruined them with the 2-4. That in itself is fantastic that they both admit that and they also blame us.

I’m playing my cards close to my chest still. I think they’ll give us a game this time. But not making any bold predictions except to say that i feel as confident now as I did when Jamie ward ran em ragged

Gonna be very difficult, our players will get kicked from pillar to post as their players will be like a pack of rabid hyenas trying to get amongst us and upset our rhythm
They know if we are allowed to settle we will outplay them and they will do whatever they can to stop that from happening

The ref better be strong because I can see this becoming a bloodbath, but what's more likely to happen is they'll kick us all over the park, nothing will get done about it and then one of our players will commit the cardinal sin of throwing the ball down on the floor in exasperation after being kicked for the umpteenth time and get sent off

Do we know who the ref is by any chance?

From pork talk

We are the best in Sheffield! We are the best in Sheffield! We have beaten United 3-1 in football!! It is completely believable! We have beaten the piggies! Sheffield, birthplace of a giant.

Sean Bean, Neil Warnock, Dave Bassett, Jessica Ennis, Chris Kamara (?), Alan Cork (??), Billy Blunt, Charlie Webster – we have beaten them all. We have beaten them all!

Chris Wilder can you hear me? Chris Wilder, I have a message for you in the middle of your promotion campaign. I have a message for you: We have sh*t on your campaign.

Chris Wilder, as they say in your language in the chicken shops on the Wicker: Your boys took a hell of a beating! Your boys took a hell of a beating!

I'm quite confident....
