True but not sure he would care too much had the ref given it. Hasn't he got away with the same thing already this season?

He may be owned up knowing that his team mate was coming back from a two match ban for cheating. Incidentally didn't Gayle take a dive late on . Just seen it on the quest highlights

Exactly. When he hand balled it earlier on in the season against Villa did he own up?

The bizzare thing about the Gayle incident is Goodman making out it should have been a penalty even though the “foul” was outside the box.

What’s impressive is that it’s a lung buster all the way, especially as Freeman’s pass was overhit. Mrs Trig just watched it and asked how he knew the ball would come to him. The answer is of course that he didn’t and it might have been a complete waste of effort.

It's something that's easy to underestimate. You've got to work so hard to play good football. You watch the very best passing teams in Europe and they all have this understated workrate. Players have to be constantly running, constantly moving, because even if they don't receive that ball they draw defenders out of position and open space for others.

When they first started tracking distances ran by players in games, the one who was ahead by a distance was Thierry Henry. Always thought of as a smart, skillful player but so much of his quality came from him being willing and able to run a half marathon during a game.
