Little bit of a detour but The Green Room at the top of Dev Green do amazing breakfasts (and being a bar, you can even have a pint with it if you want). The Big Breakfast is something else! (white pudding AND black pudding!).

Just remembered Rodders, one of the best brekkie's in town is just up the road from the station at Tamper Coffee. It's not cheap and it's full of hipsters, but the grub (and the coffee) is outstanding.

Yes it’s very good.
Usually a bit of a wait though.
And you have to take your socks off and grow a silly big beard.
Something to do while your waiting though.

Harland is brilliant and very reasonably priced, it’s going to be closing though towards the end of March sadly.

Not sure it's closing for good. Just changing ownership. Steve and Sarah have worked so hard to make it what it is and I think they have accepted an offer for the business. a real treat to have a nice bacon sandwich on good bread, with excellent coffee.

i get that they should sort themselves out before the game. but for the last 15 - 18 years for me stuffing your face is essential part of being at a football match

Tried to make a concious effort to stop going places like the Angel, Brudenell, Spoons etc when I was working but soon reverted as £5 minimum a pint in most places seemed criminal and soon added up. That £6 Neck Oil was in Water Lane Boathouse!

Tried to make a concious effort to stop going places like the Angel, Brudenell, Spoons etc when I was working but soon reverted as £5 minimum a pint in most places seemed criminal and soon added up. That £6 Neck Oil was in Water Lane Boathouse!

£ 2.50 pint for a Pictish ale at the Sheaf View for the QPR game, only 3.5% but a fabulous fresh tasty brew, best I've had for ages.

I don't know if it is open on Saturdays but the Jumpin' Jive café on Harwood Street opposite the away end does a good breakfaxt

Yep Water Lane Boathouse is expensive.

A decent cross city centre grubby pub crawl is (or was) Highland, Fox & Newt, Veritas, Town Hall Tav, Foleys, Victoria, The Ship, Whitelocks, Duck & Drake. Memries!

Excellent value and very tasty. We go there before every game when we are over. My young lad insists on having a chip butty though because of the blades connection. He loves the novelty of it because it wouldnt be something that is widely offered over here.​
