I think the issue with Talksport is that’s it’s place in the market is to attract “The Sun” reader type of male, it’s so “laddish”.
They (especially Durham) say some rediculous stuff, then you realise that it’s his job to say anything (as long as it’s legal) that provokes a reaction. Jim White is the same too but I suppose in the pub after work they’d all admit they are bullshitters just doing a job.
Sometimes Alan Brazil gets very close to the edge. The other week he was saying that “having depression has now become trendy”.
He said he often doesn’t feel like going to work and wonders if he also has depression. He said in his day “you just get on with it”.
He also calls women “love” and constantly boasts about how he does nothing in the house but says that’s what having a wife is for,
He even admitted that his wife gets up at 5am every morning to make him his Frosties for breakfast. He was kind of bragging off about how useless he is in the hoause “it’s woman’s work”. Think he’s being serious and not on the wind up.
AB also brags off and tries to glamourise his excessive drinking habits. When any guest comes on criticising the effects of alcohol he always gets defensive making it clear he finds nothing wrong with “enjoying yourself”, he makes himself sound like he’s in the early stages of being an alcoholic.
