Fulwood Blade

The day: Friday, 8th Feb, the time: 21:41, the place: Bloomery Pub in Broomhill
I'd just walked out of the pub with my youngest after seeing one of the most one sided games finish 3-3!. I followed a Blade out who said to a mate, "How the fuck didn't we win that?" - it's what we all thought wasn't it?
A text had just pinged in, but I was muttering.......fucking hell, what the fuck and just for good luck you fucking piggy bastards which was in reference to a small group who had given a little squeal at 1-3, then a slightly bigger squeal at 2-3 an then you can gather the rest at 3-3. Yes I know, we'd have done the same.
Anyway, back to the text - it came from a very good mate of mine - we've all got them haven't we? The ones you'd trust 100% - the ones you know you can turn to in a crisis. We'll i'd known my mate for 40+ years, he'd joined my eldest in the Junior Blades when he was 4 hours old - yep, that sort of mate. He's a very keen Blade and is as up front and honest and articulate about football as you can find.
He sent me the OP title "Now, I think we'll go up automatically".
Even though 100% Blade, he's realistic like most of us are - but DESPITE the 3 goals in 14 minutes by Villa - it was all about the performance. It was a fantastic away performance. Same with me really and I hope most of you think the same. Fore sure, we're all disappointed in the result - but it's HOW we played for 81 minutes that counted.
The players will be hurting - they just need to dust themselves down, put those 14 minutes behind them and go again v Boro. It's just another lesson for the players and the post match interview from Wilder set exactly the right tone.
We'll be fine - it should work to our advantage because CW will make it work to our advantage because it's what he is about.
Don't bother looking behind at Bristol City - some were looking behind at QPR/Birmingham and Hull who all had decent runs, and still are a bit - it's what the league is all about. Just look at what's in front.
As for me, i've thought for a while it's like L1 again, so yes, I agree with my mate. We can do this, just have the belief in CW preparing the team for each game - just like Villa. He'll solve the small issues.
One game at a time - Boro up next.
