This is where he fails...

Keep your strongest team on the pitch against your strongest opposition... feel so sorry for BS xx

The only substitute that needed to come on was Duffy, when you are 3-0 up you need players on the pitch that can hold onto the ball to wind the clock down and stop any momentum building in the opposition,Wilder made the wrong decision.

Took so much of the gloss off Billys hatrick, the play leading up to Billys third was magnificent.

Remember it was us who came back to draw last season,2-0 down early on and got back to 2-2.

Everybody’s an expert watching on TV and behind a pint glass, me included. But for fucks sake tonight takes some beating. Drag a £6 million forward off and put on Martin Cranie and Conor Washington. Nothing to do with these lads, but fuck me your taking the piss? So, so fucking annoying. Keep the same side on the pitch it’s a 3 or 4 nil. I’m honestly thinking his staff are a lot to do with this. We’re cruising and then you see Knill or some assistant in Wilders earhole and then it’s starts going tits up? Who the fuck knows but fuck me supporting this club could make Paul Merson contemplate a sniff and a snort. I love United till the day I die. I don’t want to sound melodramatic but tonight really pissed me off to my core. They don’t do it on a purpose but they make a good fucking habit of doing it.

Going 2v0 down and pulling it back to 2v2 or going on to win happens relatively often. The only time I can remember us throwing a 3v0 lead away was the Brighton game decades ago. They went 4v3 up and we eventually won 5v4.

Throwing away a 3v0 lead with 10 minutes to play I can't ever remember happening to us before. If it has I've erased the horror show from my memory.

The fact that we dominated for 80minutes and all 3 goals conceded were absolute howlers, just makes it even harder to take.

Continued rant....it kills me because it’s the ingrained ethos of the club that fucks me off....settle for what we’ve got, if we give 100% that’s all that matters. Fuck that. Tonight was a classic example of we’ve got them by the balls, squeeze them tight.

Almost a game like when we played Fulham at home last season, just we did not get a fifth goal to get the draw.

We very nearly had a rare double over them.

Henderson why did you not just put your fist thru the ball and Mings head, its nothing more than he deserved, and never palm the ball back into play after making a save.

One of Wilder’s huge abilities is his knack of playing individual players to their strengths and keeping it simple, with a set system.

For whatever reason, he let that slip yesterday. Moving Basham into midfield when we clearly needed to hold possession seemed very questionable. I love Bash, but he is definitely not a ‘possession’ midfielder. For 80 minutes, we stick to 3-5-2 with all players doing their usual thing. Then, we:

- Swap a centre back (always risky to switch a balanced defence when things seem well).
- Change the shape of the midfield three, adding in a player even more deep than the current two holding midfielders.
- Leave a huge gap between the deep midfield and the front two, who both rely on balls to feet.
- Panic and start smashing long passes to the front two without looking, giving possession straight back, with nine of our players in our around our own box.

We lost touch with our basics at the end - everything that had worked so well for us. Almost every time we’ve played a defensive midfield three (Swansea home, Middlesbrough away, last fifteen minutes last night) it has backfired badly.

This is what is so hard to take

If we'd gone 3-0 Up after a blistering start in the first 10 minutes, then Villla got their act together and put us under severe pressure for 80 minutes it would still have been a bit disappointing. But at least we'd have no complaints

But 3-0 up with 7-8 minutes to play after totally controlling a game from the start against a team that had completely run out of ideas is a different level of disappointment altogether

We invited trouble with our "job done" let's sit back and toss the rest of this game off attitude

Yep, I'm fed up with having negative managers like Clough and Wilder. No ambition, boring to watch, doesn't get results.

SMH...

There's a reason we never truly batter anyone under Wilder. He'll barely allow it.
Dull at home last season
Preston at home this season , after going back up a gear
Villa at home this season
Oh and Wigan at home this season
Only ones I can think off

The bench can be used When you’re not playing Aston Villa, and a Chelsea striker...

You and me both know we should have coasted that..
What about when we’re 0-3 up and cruising after 74 mins? You know, when 1-11 have put a right shift in?

Do you keep it as it is and risk injury, tiredness, cramp etc...

You use the bench, we’ve done it all season, we did it against villa at home even, we brought lundstram on to stick that tackle in

The bench we have is decent, the players that came in, also decent

Yes, the bench should be used for two reasons only

1) To try to change what's not working
2) To give players who are tired a rest by bringing on a like for like sub when things are going well

I don't always agree with the subs CW makes, but it wouldn't surprise me if they're a big reason we don't pick up many fatigue injuries.
