Let’s look on the bright side

The playoffs are always exciting to be a part of.

No bright side right now. Not sure what to add! Just numb and waiting for Wilder's interview as I know I'll not sleep if I bother trying now!

And we got away with 2 clear penalties in the last 10 minutes if we're honest, so on another day we lose that 5-3.

Of course everyone is disappointed right now, but the positives is that a point away at Villa isn’t a bad result and it’s a tough match out of the way.

Win midweek and this will all be forgotten.

Might be a bright side tomorrow but don't expect many not to be fuming tonight.

Each to their own but if you can't understand the reaction from many tonight you simply don't get football.

I'm haven't forgotten the points we dropped to leeds and rotherham

Will it heck as like!

It’s always the case, you always remember the bad moments more than the comfortable wins. Luckily there have been more comfortable wins than points thrown away.

Henderson probably won't be in the Man Utd team anytime soon. More chance of having him next season.

Bad day at the office for him tonight that's all. He will learn. It stings now, but i reckon Utd will learn from this.

We also played well tonight as well. Some big positives for us tonight, just feels like a kick in the bollox at the moment. Come tomorrow when the madness fades, we will all be a lot more upbeat again.

We didn't deserve that.

As my anger subsides and I try and recall the good things from the game as a means of getting through the pain, one thing that I don’t think should go unnoticed is the Norwood-Fleck performances. Dowell will rightly get a lot of attention for his 2nd half performance, but considering a lot have said Fleck can’t play well with Norwood I thought that as a pair that was one of their best games together tonight. Both very much on their game, they bossed it against some decent individual opponents.

People are (quite understandably in the circumstances) saying that the 2 points dropped tonight might cost us at the end of the season.

Yes they might. But then just to switch things on their head, the point we gained tonight (point before kick off was a decent point) might also help us get where we want to be. Disappointing tonight yes, but fuk all this doom and gloom. We are a very decent championship team and it's still all to play for. I still fancy us this season even after tonight's little mini 'disaster'.

We’ll see if it’s a bright side or not, but the likelihood both before and after the game is that we look most likely to be in the play offs. I feel like the fuck ups today might actually help us in the play offs. Don’t ask me how! I just feel if we’ve got the psychological strength to get over it, focus on Middlesbrough and beat them, then it will stand us in good stead when we enter play off season. Depends a lot on how we react on Wednesday.

Unusual for us to concede 3 goals over 90 minutes never mind 10!

Fuk the playoffs. I want automatic promotion this season. No reason why we can't do it either.

Positives the morning after:
1. We outclassed Villa for 80 minutes, during which they never looked like scoring.
2. The last 10 minutes were a freak. I don't remember us ever losing a 3-goal lead in the last 10 minutes (since 1953). Or so many individual errors leading to goals in such a short space of time.
3. Lessons will surely be learnt, mainly about maintaining concentration even when the job appears to be done. The worst reaction would be to pillory players for individual errors, and terrify them for future matches when we are defending a lead.
4. Henderson will need to be dealt with sensitively. He has all the surface arrogance of a confident kid, but I thought the first goal showed fear - he got out-muscled when he should have gone in hard to punch the ball. Goalies are delicate flowers, and he will need his confidence boosting. For the second goal, he did what goalies are trained to do nowadays, and Abraham did exactly what good strikers do. Billy would have done the same.
5. We've got Billy Sharp!
6. My lifetime of pessimism following the Blades has been vindicated. When Villa scored at the Lane to bring it back to 4-1, I became nervous until it got to the 90th minute. Afterwards I felt stupid. At least I will know in future that I have good reason to worry.:(

That should have been a loss as Billy’s second should have been disallowed.

And we got away with 2 clear penalties in the last 10 minutes if we're honest, so on another day we lose that 5-3.

Completely correct. On another day we'd have been going in to the last 10 minutes 2-1 up or even 2-2. Although it's true to say it would have been a completely different game anyway, if those incidents had been reversed, we'd all be irate.
We are still not at a level where we can expect to be bossing the division, there are frailties in the team - particularly maintaining our composure when in the lead - which means a play-off place is probably our rightful place, but there aren't any runaway leaders this season so we're still in with a shout.
Plenty of positives from the game and a point away at Villa may be a good and vital point come the end of the season.

Great positive was for 80 mins we looked like very strong promotion contenders , everyone played well esp the front 2

The last ten we were like a Sunday league hungover team

It did show what a crazy league this is !

Leeds could easily draw /loose to boro and the 6 finger derby could some how be a draw . Either way a long way to go

I do think these next 2 games are huge now , not just results wise but character wise

Knowing what this group are like and what CW is like , we will come out all guns blazing mid week

Imo if we play like we did for most of the game we will go up

Still believe ! It is hard after that but we still have a great opportunity
