Wasn't expecting this till Sunday Roy......:D
Only kidding
Cheers Roy
Sensible balanced comments
they have Mings the Merciless...we have Flashbilly.......

Villa fans are normally confident verging on arrogant but it seems they’ve learnt some humility and actually rate us.
Reckon their fans be thinking about our 4-1 win earlier in the season when we outclassed them.

The positives
We’re playing well, no injury issues and seem to play the same team most matches.
We didn’t win our last 2 away matches so are due a win.

The negatives
All our worse performances of the season (apart from Boro away) seem to occur when we’re on Sky.
Not sure why we struggle in front of the cameras but It’s about time we put in a top class performance in front of the Sky cameras.
However the biggest negative is.....if we win then we go to the top of the table.

The last time we had the opportunity to top the table was at home to Stoke.
We totally dominated that match but struggled to score, got a deserved goal to lead 1-0, then in injury time Stoke scored an undeserved equaliser.

I reckon we’ll play well, win some more plaudits by having spells of making Villa look like the away team.
But it will end a draw, probably 2-2 with Villa getting a lucky late equaliser.

To be honest I’d take a draw if it means we then beat Boro in mid week. 4 points from the next 2 games is the minimum needed.

Got a bad feeling about this one, and not just because we usually fuck up when given the opportunity to go top.

A win at Villa though and my belief in achieving the unthinkable of top 2 would increase.

Not to mention being on S*Y TV

I shouldn't pick up on this but I do love this quote...

"At the end of the first Steve Bruce season 50 % of us thought his tactics and ability to motivate players at a club our size was very questionable. "

:p

But he's the new messiah over at Hillsborough...

Cheers Roy. Mings will be up to his usual trick of stamping on any player that gets in his way not just hendo!!. We’ll probably have a few minor injuries after this but quietly fancy us to win. 2-0 blades. UTB

Got a feeling this is going to be end to end, thrill a minute match.

To be honest they were the least positive/arrogant fans I've been amongst when we played in the Cup there in 14. Two divisions above us, at the time, and most of them we were talking to pre game thought they'd be lucky to win. They've been Brucied since then so one step up from suicidal these days no doubt.

Gutted it's not Saturday as it's in my top 5 favourite football grounds and a fixture I rarely miss. Having to make do with shitty Sky is a poor substitute.

I’m strangely optimistic about this game. At least as a not lose game. It’s Boro at home and West Brom away I am prepared for defeat. However, I did say the same about Norwich away and we should have won that !

Concerned that dirty bastard Mings might injure someone, but then again, he might rein it in a bit now as you’d expect refs to be watching him.

As always, it's on us. Turn up and we can get a result, get stage fright in front of the Sky cameras, it could be a Swansea away.

Hopefully drawing with Norwich and then them smashing Leeds will give us a bit of belief.

Cheers Roy.

Hoping to do a quick one today, Blades Analytics is a busy bee it seems ;)
What does he do work wise ? Is it work across football ? (Obviously I don’t want to know specifics) I’m sure you will have covered it in a podcast and I’ve heard him refer to doing some work at the Lane, seems a very interesting profession whatever he gets up to.

Don't like their comments at all - tactics methinks, all designed to soften us up. Hopefully the manager and players don't read these Roygbiv posts.
Do you really think that all their fans have conspired to write things they don't actually believe on their forum as a tactic to "soften us up", despite there being no evidence that such a tactic works and despite no team in the division basing its tactics on what the opposition fans have been posting on their forum?

Yes, it’s interesting that fans who’ve had him in charge don’t rate him very highly, but the delusional are already writing to The Vatican asking about the requirements for sanctification.

Wilder in contrast, is well regarded both by us and Villa fans, who respect what he’s achieved and think he’s likeable. Oinkers on the other hand can’t bring themselves to say he’s any good and he’s practically the devil incarnate as a personality.

Yes - I'm one of those wierd guys who sees conspiracies everywhere. It's a nightmare; I don't know how I manage to keep upbeat and smiling so much at all the comments on this forum. I think I'll throw my lot in with all the pessimists who saw the wheels coming off our League 1 promotion campaign with only a handfull of matches left to play, or all those on here who think we might not even make the playoffs (LOL)

I would usually use it in the plural, but I was always led to believe that collective nouns should properly be singular. I see that many websites are saying either can be used. I wonder whether that's a modern development.
I actually don’t know what I use, I’m overthinking it.

I’d say ‘the team is playing well at the moment’

But then I’d say ‘Wednesday are shit’.
