“...it’s not in their make up”

Commentator on the game today when we were 1-0 up after 60+ mins.

I love that this is now our reputation. Whether we get more goals is almost irrelevant, but it’s great that people see that we’re always looking to get more goals

Bloody love what we’ve become

He identified himself as Paul Walker on my stream and he definitely said what the OP quoted.

What do you mean?

It was a joke. He’s at the stadium in the commentary area doing the EFL’S global commentary (which I got via ESPN), and said exactly what Swiss suggests was said. I doubt it’s Walker that heard that from another commentator next to him. I suspect it’s just that the commentary was carried by another broadcaster and that’s what SwissBlade was watching.

It didn’t sound like him at all!

Ah, iFollow got it's feed from the world coverage then as I also heard the same. Must be a rights thing that stops Radio Sheffield doing some of the games.

Nah, we'll settle for 2-0 instead.

Stearman??

It's what will.be known years from now as the Wilder Era. A.team better than the sum of its parts, built on a less than competitive budget.

It's a privilege to experience it.

I was struggling to place the voice until he identified himself.

He sounded like he was doing the commentary over the phone. Was like watching WC 82 all over again...

Basham was in midfield well before Stearman came on.
He was there for at least the ten minutes of the first half and all the second half.

Indeed - we went to 4 at the back 10-15 before HT and started the 2nd the same way.

Not sure when we went back to 3 at the back - either side of the 2nd goal.

For sure when we went to a 4 in the first half, the plan worked as we had more possession and pushed Bolton back - thought Bolton did well up to that point.

Yes , we did revert to 3 and the pushed Stearman on to get Basham back into midfield when Duffy went off.

Prior to the initial change Bolton were looking very good. Basham provided another body in midfield to stop them controlling the ball. Like many teams who struggle in this league they have no goal threat. 2 statues at CB doesn't help them either. Hobbs had a total nightmare against Billy for both goals

Yes and no.

Basham joined the midfield in possession, as he often does when we're playing a team that are tough to break down, however, he reverted back to CB when Bolton had the ball.

It wasn't until after we scored and Bolton made some kind of concerted effort to attack that Basham joined the midfield permanently, as Stearman assumed his defensive duties.

Like most opposition at the Lane, they came with a plan to nullify us/catch us on the break. CW and his team re-assessed, tweaked things and the result became inevitable.

Good, innit?

Not for me. I got the EFL World feed. The game actually started with no commentary at all, then around 5 minutes in l refreshed the page and lost sound and pictures. I deleted cookies, reloaded a couple of times and got the world's feed audio. The 'listen live' link was still the Radio Sheffield content, but the video feed was the solo guy. A shame, as l prefer the RS audio, but l can live with it, for one game

This was when we switched to the diamond:

And this was when we reverted back to 3-5-2 (with Duffy less advanced than normal):

Stearman came on for Duffy after 76 mins, keeping the 3-5-2, but pushing Bash into midfield again.
