With Leon going...

I always think of Baldock as from that group.

To be fair Wilder has done it the right way, we've upgraded the team/ squad slowly without having a massive over haul and upsetting the team spirit -

Henderson for Moore (better)
Stevens for Lafferty (better)
Bash
Egan for Wright (better)
O'Connell
Baldock for Freeman (better in my opinion)
Norwood for Coutts (tough one, Coutts was flying pre-injury)
Fleck
Duffy
Sharp
McGoldrick for Clarke (more consistent)

I think next season you will see a better, younger version of Duffy come through the door.

You'd have to either absolutely nail your scouting and unearth a gem that for whatever reason wants to play for SUFC and forego better salaries elsewhere or, more likely, spend around £10 million.

Those are the only two scenarios where you will find a player that could take on the huge responsibility and succeed at it like Mark Duffy does for Sheffield United.

... it means we're down to x4 of our League One winning side left in our first choice XI!!

Fair play to Tufty. On the quiet he's upgraded pretty much every position without us losing any identity or character from that famous season.

More than ever, In Tufty we Trust!!

At the risk of sounding pedantic, Leon hasn’t been in the first choice XI for months........

Finding a younger Duffy is going to take some finding.
Even then I don’t believe any player under 25...unless they’ve played 200 plus games at this level or above, will have the nous to do what Duff does.
So getting a player like Duff at his prime will be either very expensive, or take a fantastic bit of scouting to be done in our budget.
Dowell is clearly neat and tidy and has skills but just doesn’t have that same ability to beat a man by a drop of the shoulder or turn.l

It’s the same with Coutts, we’ve found a quality player in Norwood of that I’m sure....though Coutts at his prime kept the ball better and his short to medium passing was better...as was his touch.
Norwood takes the stakes on long passing and shooting, and that eye for a sneaky ball behind for the runner.

It’s key you get a blend of talents and find partnerships that work. And at the moment Coutts/Fleck/ Duff worked better than Norwood/Fleck/Duff in my opinion. The only downside of course being Coutts not being the player he was pre injury.
Hopefully he will be again, but I can’t see it being this season.

I would hope that we don't just 'make do' and start to actively look at other league's and countries if we cannot source a replacement nearer home.

Got to say I’m a bit sad about Leon leaving his brace against the piggies will live long in my heart and will always be a hero to me for that alone.
Leon , go on and score loads against our promotion rivals this season

I always think of Baldock as from that group.

Baldock played right back for MK Dons in that game at their place towards the end of the L1 promotion season which will probably remembered more for the party and less for the scoreline, even though we beat them 3-0.

Despite the scoreline, you could see he was very, very good. The thing that stuck out for me was just how quick and tenacious he was. I was chuffed when I found out we'd be signing him.
