Makes me look back at how Nigel Spackman looked at and ignored my 5 year old asking him for an autograph in the South stand car park. I should have washing machined that cunt right there and then. Donachie wet nursed the useless wanker through management anyway.

Mark Patterson managed to sign an autograph for a ten year old PokerBlade without looking away from his conversation.

And for all anyone says about him now, when my mate was doing work experience in the offices at the Lane, Warnock spotted him and offered to take him to watch the team train. When he said he didn't have a coat (it was pissing it down outside), Warnock left, and came back five minutes later with a brand new one from the club shop for him.

Similarly, one birthday my Mum went to get me a new shirt and spotted Steve Bruce in the car park, she asked if he'd sign something for me. He took her into the shop, told them she was a friend of hers and to give her a staff discount, got me an autograph book, told her to hang on and came back with his and Dellas' autograph on it.

It's always nice to hear good things about players. I'm sure it's tiring for them getting pestered all the time but they ought to realise that they're heroes to these kids. And, again, there's a lot more footballers forgotten than remembered.

The other one I remember reading about was Kozluk who said the mascots got to pick their favourite player to walk onto the pitch with, and he teared up one time because no one had ever picked him before. Given no one outside of Sheffield, and even then probably a minority of us Blades, remember Rob Kozluk's time as a footballer, I bet he's a lot happier knowing he appreciated his time in the spotlight.

I've some great memories from being a kid getting autographs, meeting players and stuff. Like others have said, it makes a HUGE impact when they treat fans (particularly kids) well. We were once lucky enough to get the Ward's executive box for the day and go on the pitch, meet the players and so on. That concurs with my experience of Warnock. Treat me like a king when I was a young un working at United.Loads of great lads there too: McCall, Jags, Morgs, Asaba, Kozzie.His media thing is a persona that he's carefully crafted to wind people up and motivate players.Makes me laugh how many people he pisses off. Makes him laugh too.

Quite right that. The players couldn't stand him either. That's straight from Mark Patterson's mouth while I was having a drink with him in the Leadmill. He told me a story of when Spackman went in to Kendalls office and some of the players listened at the door and Spackman started grassing some of them up for something or other. Said he was a slippery twat. I couldn't believe my ears.

I’ve said it before, these little gestures and moments spending time with people are priceless and Hendo gets a big thumbs up from me. If I was that lad who got given those gloves I would still have them now. Looking at his age it would probably have been Tomlinson/Budgie’s gloves I got.

Is the young kids I feel sorry for. Imagine trying to explain that someone as fantastic as Henderson will only be here for one season, max.

I just want to go on record to say what an absolute hero of mine he has become........and I am 62! Apparently in the recent weeks, he has given his gloves, boots and a full kit to kids who requested or are ill. What a refreshing change from a young man who is, don’t forget, only on loan! I would love him to be ours permanently but I think I am only dreaming. Hats off to you Deano. I hope you read this because I truly believe you are not only a great goalie but, more importantly, a very decent guy who makes his family proud!

Yes he did Bob ,when we played a pre season at Worksop ,Geary was warming up and our young un shouted to him and showed he had his name on the back of his shirt before he was really popular ,at the end of the game he came over and gave him all sorts of bits including his shirt , it fitted him of course
Darren Bullock was also a really nice guy off the pitch ,great with the kids.
