We've signed two good players already. But now we're in this position, we have to use it to try and sign a very good player, or two. It's one hell of a rare position to be in and we don't want to be having any regrets about January at the end of the season. I hope the funding is there for Wilder should the right players become available.

I'll see if i can rustle up some loose change for a whipround

If there are any mobile, athletic forwards who don't mind Only playing 20 minutes a game, and having the odd start I think we should be in. Alternatively, a CM who can make forward runs and score from crosses

No idea who that could be.

Mischief making post given Wilder has already said unlikely to be any more movement unless injuries occur.

We are where we are.
If somebody shakes loose on the last day because of other signings I think we could get something unexpected. But I'm not holding my breath

I’d love for us to sign a real class player to push us on, but unfortunately to get a player that could come in and break into the starting XI from day one will be £5m bare minimum, so I just can’t see it happening.

Need to be looking at both wing back positions as well. Could do with better at RWB, and need proper cover for Stevens.

If any top quality attacking player becomes available for loan, we should go for them.

At the moment it will take someone extra special to get straight in to our starting 11 and we simply don't have the funds for that type of player.

Now is the time for a Mitrovic-esque signing to get us over the line

Yes I saw the white text

Neither of the warring factions are going to sign off on something like that unfortunately.

I think what we currently have is what we are going stick with.

We might get another player on loan but thats about the most we can expect in this window.

More of the deadwood will be shipped out.

We might sign wing back cover.

But We aren’t going on a spending spree forget about it.

If we're paying all of Madine's reported 30k wages, there's a possibility we could get a real quality player if we were willing to fork out a similar amount for another loan.

We have to question what area we are weak, and if I was honest I would still say we lack Pace up top.
I understand that we score...but we still lack pace to catch sides out when they finally over commit.
Times today we were through and didn’t get a shot off is something we need to be able
To Capitalise on.
Pace and power up Top and we have the full package IMHO.

Will we get it?
Again if I’m honest...No.

The budget we have won’t stretch to that type of forward that’s proven. So we need to have a hidden gem from somewhere. Be it academy (not necessarily ours!!) or abroad.. I see that as our only option to find him.

Get Johnson off the wage bill, use it for someone different, Woodburn and his penalties off the wage bill now, 5 months earlier than expected use that too.

Maybe look at RND, I doubt he'd be a worse option than Johnson who varies from terrible to not great. Don't think we'll get a RWB though, we'll be betting on Freeman shaking himself, if not we'll put Bash there and play Cranie at RCB.

A striker that can score a few would be nice to have in reserve though for injury purposes, but I really like the idea of the target man on the bench, could have been a different target man but still, feels like we have an option.

Fleck, Stevens and Sharp are the ones I'd like is to get cover for, but the kind of players who could adequately cover for them are unlikely to be available on loan.

Let's see, think the group we have is obviously good enough but we'll need to stay fit.

Shall I dust of my old boots and find some new laces n stud's ?

LWB now the biggest concern for cover,IMO. Then perhaps a CM to cover Fleck.

We need to sign adequate cover for Stevens. If the right player came up we should look to improve RWB as well as that’s an area which could do with improvement.

Another quality centre mid wouldn’t go a miss either.

We are unable to buy that "quality player" that could get us over the line due to the boardroom fighting.
We will have to make do with what we have, which is more than good enough for this league.
The problem being, we are an injury away from finishing seventh and missing out. Teams never nearly do it three years running, so this year, it's now or never.

Times today we were through and didn’t get a shot off

That happens a lot.

Pace up front is still the thing I'd like most. But finding pacy players good enough to get serious game time is a challenge, on loan or permanent deals. I'd like to think we could get someone like Josh Maja - signing that kind of sought after prospect is the sort of thing being in this position can typically enable.

The abroad option would be very interesting right now if we were set up and budgeted for it. Many players in the top European leagues would be interested in joining a club who appear to have a serious chance of playing PL football next season.

Billy, McGoldrick, Leon, Madine, Washington. Two playing the best football of their careers.

Dowell and Duffy at CAM. Duffy is obviously quality, and Dowell looks promising.

Fleck, Norwood, Coutts, Lundstram to occupy two spots in midfield.

Stevens has been outstanding. This is where our backup option is the weakest, Johnson really doesn't look up to much.

JOC, Egan, Basham, Stearman, Cranie. Very solid.

Baldock and Freeman.

I'd argue that our strength in depth is pretty good.

Ring wing back and striker would be where I'd be looking, but they'd have to be outstanding candidates to really improve us.
