Just seen Kilgallon on skysports news. He's speaking about playing in the Prem next year, & going on to play for England. Great stuff!!?, Just 1 minor problem though, Blades!!......
His contract expires at the end of the season & (in his own words) United have not even sounded him out about making him a new offer.
What message does that send out to Killa!!??, (& to the fans).
We've got a team that's 'shipping goals' & United, seemingly, don't deem offering our best defender/player a new deal (even 1 that may only be a 'safety net' to secure a decent cash settlement should another club come in for him), to be a priority!!.
Wake McCabe/Blackwell etc before he's gone for nothing like so many before him!!. GET KILLA SIGNED UP, NOW.

This is my only gripe with United at the moment. Not sure who's dealing with it and i'm sure their working on something between the club and his agent. But it needs sorting as our biggest priority.

Killa's a cracking player and will be very difficult to replace.

The Blades have been talking to Killa for a long time, he's wanting money as he's decided at his age he needs a "good deal".

Heard that a while ago. My thought is that we must be fairly close to meeting his wage demands otherwise we'd have sold him in the transfer window.

Understandably he'll want to be among the top earners at the club and when you look at the likes of Morgs and Killa who've been loyal to us then they rightly deserve to be up there.

I just hope we can afford to meet his demands (is he that greedy?) and get him signed up long term

right or wrong

The rumour mill on Killa has gone on and on, i heard his agent had turned down Uniteds incredable offer of £28,000 per week !!

Dealing would go through his agent and unfortunatly maybe Mr Robinson. It would not be a suprise if there had been no face to face dealings with Killa, thats why Killa employs an agent.

We all want him to stay, but if he is unhappy here let him go, lets cash in.before he goes for peanuts like the Brown saga.

I think the longer he doesn't sign his contract the more likely he will be going in December.

I don't know what he is on, and what he want's from United, but my take on it is that he is asking and can get in the current market much much more than what is in United's price bracket.

Still when he goes it will be very much a case of the same owd, saying same owd.

same owd ...................

Can't blame Killa for wanting to leave, ambition yer havin a laugh !

He doesn't come across well in the interview. He refers to United as "Sheffield" which is rather ignorant, then continually ends his sentences with "n'that" which, frankly, makes him sound thick as mince.

And all that without referring to the content of the interview.... Suffice to say it would be more becoming for him to have "come and get me" written on his forehead.

how much would you pay Kilgallon, and what evidence do you have that we haven't offered him that money?

If we've really offered him £28K we've lost the plot. Anything over £15K per week (the income from about 3,000 season ticket holders) would be madness.

That is one of my bugbears.

I read an interview with Bryan Robson where he referred to us as Sheffield yesterday and it really gets on my tits.

Depends how much ambition.

Brownie was that the interview where he said he wasn't given enough time at West brom and it would never work in Sheffield because of the fans?

On the other hand when they quote Sheffield it would appear that there is only one club in Sheffield that is Sheffield United which would make it correct.
It probably upsets the unclean alot more than you!

Dont mean to be pedantic but 15k is not 3,000 season tickets its actually more like 50!!!

But back on point, if it is true that killa turned down 28k a week then I would like to see the back of him despite seeing him as our best player. He would be lucky to get that at quite a few premiership teams such as hull, stoke, birmingham, wolves etc).

Get right on my tits too, bet he didn't refer to Man U as Manchester.

Think Killa will be off personally, writing is on the wall and his mind isn't here any more, big big shame, really bugs me that when we came down or didn't go up the same players say "I'm off to play in the prem" when if they'd have all performed better over the season they'd be premiership players.

rant done!

It used to get on mine anall, but as there is only ONE team in Sheffield.........

come on fella, do your basic maths. It's £15K per week. The season tickets are per year. Though it was clearly an approximation, it'll not be far off.

If he is turning down over 20K a week i hope he's sold in January.

Ive not liked alot of the stuff thats gone on over the last couple of seasons but we cannot be held to ransom. And Killa is NOT good enough to EVER play for England IMO.
Im with the Blades board on this one.

He deserves to be one of the top 2 or 3 paid at the Club, but he's not worth breaking the bank for. Nobody is! United have a strict wage budget and I am pleased that they dont allow themselves to be held too ransom!

On to the maths stuff been said in the thread.....

If an average season ticket is £350...(I think mine on the South Stand was about £450ish) then it would take 2,229 season tickets to pay his wages for the year.

As long as Killa wants a short-cut to Premiership football there is no offer we can make that will be accepted. It's about what he wants and like Jags he is not prepared to wait. If we hold one of the automatic spots in January he might stay but his agent has him believing that what the Kyles can get so can he - wish it wern't so but we may have to sing the praises of Davies and Fortune soon.

How long does he have to wait and why should he!
He is good enough to play Premier League everyone on here thinks so !
He obviously thinks that the Blades are not going to be the side to win promotion this year to take him there!
He probably looks round on a Monday morning and sees six loanees and thinks 'What the hell am I doing here!' Promotion this year not a cat in hells chance!
