Now THATS pathetic
No mate you are pathetic. The FA Cup is a major competition and I'd rather see us win it than stay in the Premiership for a decade. You play football to win things not just 'be there'. We'll never win the Premiership but might win the FA Cup...if we don't get knocked out by the likes of Barnet.

If you want a knowledgeable opinion ask Wigan, Portsmouth, Coventry, Sunderland fans what their view of the FA Cup is and whether winning it beats.playing in the top flight for a few seasons!!!

Lots of people complaining about clubs / managers disrespecting the FA cup, only playing a second team etc. But only 7,000 ish fans turned up when it was £10 and £1 concessions. Not just the clubs who are guilty of it......
.
Just under 10,000 there. Not bad for a Sunday. Put the fixture on a Saturday and I predict another 4 to 5,000 comfortably.

Some ridiculously OTT reactions. Worst result ever, never want to see Bryan and Johnson play again, demanding a refund....

Get a grip FFS. A poor performance and a poor result but if anyone would rather have won today than getting points against QPR and Norwich needs to give their head a wobble.

A smallish squad with limited quality in depth should always focus on the league.

This coupled with the reaction about Madine reminds me of the delusional traits shown by those on the darkside.
It doesn’t have to be one or the other, we’re allowed to win both.

I meant 7k blades. No excuses, most of us and the team didn't turn up. Why would a saturday make any difference?

Our first team being well beaten by the likes of Fleetwood, Yeovil Carlisle & Crewe and being bottom of League 1 is my personal low point during my lifetime.

We’re 3rd in the league mounting a serious promotion challenge and playing the best football I’ve ever seen the blades play.

Today’s reserve team defeat doesn’t come close to those dark days of LG1 imo.

The 11 Wilder started with today should have been good enough to get us through to the next round. Regardless of debuts etc all have played at a decent level and the majority at championship.
What I found more alarming was the fact they looked so uninterested with no drive and you got the feeling they thought they only had to turn up from the first minute. The attitude of some was definitely questionable.
I could single out 3 or 4 especially but in reality the entire starting 11 showed very little and Barnet wanted it more than us without doubt.
Wilder did his best to change things but by then our lack of tempo and the fact Barnet had something to hold on to (not to mention there growing confidence) made it more difficult as the game wore on.
Yes the league is our priority but this is the first time in our history we’ve been beaten at home by a non league side in the cup and should be utterly ashamed, the most disappointing part being not one starter looked like he wanted to force his way into Wilders thinking.
Good luck to Barnet in the next round. They deserved it. I hope they get the plum draw they deserve

Do you still wear flares and listen to the bay city rollers ?

Agreed. We were beaten by the better (non league) team. We, along with many other clubs, have lost respect for the FA Cup. Our best team could have been competitive. But no, we're not that interested.
And I thought this would have been our best chance of getting into Europe this season. Oh well.

Very disappointing result no Blade can argue any differently,
But thank fuck tinter net wasn’t around
When we got humiliating results in games from when I’ve been watching us
Yes it’s a shock to the knickers in a twist people
Bad results I can remember
4-0 at pigs
Donnie beating us at that dump , the old ground in a cup game
Altringham beating us
Swansea in the cup absolutely smashing us at the lane , by playing s severally understrength team in the premier league
Cambridge beating us to send us down
Walsall beating us to send us down
4-0 at gillingham
4-1 at wrexham
And one that sticks in my mind as I’m watching Leicester’s game is that hum dinger of a result at Newport , again another 4-0 defeat
This result is bad but come the fuck on

And we were a Fourth Division side then.

This is our most humiliating defeat ever no question.
Nah no way. I felt humiliated far more and far more often in League 1 under Adkins.

It’s a poor defeat today and one I never expected. But these things happen in the cup. Hats off to Barnet, more than deserved it, no doubt.

What I don’t think is right as well is that this defeat apparently shows how weak our squad is. It’s not really a reflection of that - we’ll need the odd player from that team today to fill in (ie Cranie, Coutts) but when you throw 11 players into the mix like that these things can happen.

I don't feel humiliated, Barnet would have given our stringest team a tough test and maybe same result, they were superb today.

I'm just a sad that we value the FA Cup so little. The Club (not just the players) have demonstrated exactly what they think of it and are a bit diminished in my estimation as a consequence.

Let’s get to the premiership before thinking about winning the cup. We will have a realistic chance of winning it then.

I still love the FA Cup and I'm gutted when we go out

We will never win the League ever again, the only chance of ever seeing us win anything is a cup

If we're in the Premier League we'll toss it off because the main aim will be to stay there

If we're a Championship club we toss it off because the aim is to get promoted

Its pathetic, and there is no evidence that a cup run affects our League form, quite the opposite actually

I don’t give a shit about the cups. We aren’t going to win and it isn’t like the money from a cup run compensates for not getting promoted is it?

I couldn’t have even told you who won the FA cup since Liverpool back in 2006 and that’s because we watched it as part of my stag do.

The competition has no relevance apart from to the BBC because it is all they can get their claws into.

I mean maybe I should, but couldn't care less to be honest. served its purpose in showing Wilder what he has or hasn't got at his disposal.

Its a cup competition thats won by the reserve teams of the top 6. Even teams like Soton et al who should be going all out for it cant be arsed.

Maybe its a Generational thing? Im 32 and I just see the cup now as a weekend without a league fixture I was a kid back in 1999 and I did love it prior to Man Utd pulling out and ever since then its not had the same attraction.

I live in Leicester, thank fuck they lost. The piss-taking at work won't be directed at me.
A good mate of mine is from Leicester and he’s been quiet on WhatsApp. I think the best thing is if we both never mention it.
