SYP Don’t want local weekend Derby matches anymore

Every other police force in the country that deals with big rival football matches can cope.

Yet ours can’t.

Joke of an organization.

I know people who travel from afar for games, as will many of you. People having to book 2 days off work to make the game. Finishing work at 5 to make the game in rush hour, in Hillsborough - ha!!

I know we don’t like the bloke but Mick the pig on RS nailed it when he said that SYP are happy enough to allow 30,000 supporters onto the streets of Sheffield on a Friday night into streets already busy with other folk enjoying their Friday evening and police already present. Yet they don’t want a weekend fixture with the same amount of people with the same amount of police. Wether it be a Saturday 3pm or Monday 7:45 the game will sell out. What is their problem?

They won’t liaise with fans at all. The decision is made. It’s a cop-out. Useless.

No one decent wants the poisoned chalice of the job. That's why we end up with a bunch of third raters lying to the press - 10000 at H Corner to cause trouble, ffs - while putting a hi vis jacket on when he's on the front page of The Star but sits in an office ticking fucking boxes all day.

Yes, you, you wanker.

So, after decades of the Blades and the Owls playing Saturday afternoons, at times that those who attended seemed to prefer, and yet, the local police now want to disrupt this great social occasion and cause irreparable harm to what's an already fractured relationship with the supporters of both teams.

The cries of wanting a safer environment holds no water at all. If they, the South Yorkshire Police, had learnt not to lie in the first place there would be no need for this pretence. Last season's derby at Hillsborough was a prize example of how not to manage a large crowd of visiting supporters. The shallow pretence of managing supporters who had travelled to Hillsborough, inventing a fictitious story about supposed crowd control problems, and then ensuring that the same supporters arrived up to 20-30 minutes late for a game that had already started. Therein lies the problem, it's not the supporters who were the problem, it was the incompetency of SYP that lay at the root of this.

Why doesn't The Star organise a poll consisting of contributions from fans to see what their opinion is about this shabby excuse for changing the pattern of Saturday afternoon games? I doubt anyone would complain about a game being played on Boxing Day, whatever day this fell on, but the primary history of games between Sheffield's two professional teams is being threatened by the SYP.

Bunch of spineless cunts SYP are.

Its not like our Derby is more difficult to police than most of the other big derbys.

Basically just spjneless bastards who hide behind the H&S blanket.

jokers.

I think us and Wednesday are in agreement that SYP are utter shite.

Can the two clubs decide that we don't want the fuckers and have our games on at normal, minimally disruptive times?

SYP already get above going rate from us don't they? They make a profit on policing our games yet the money only gets us this shite.

We should put a tender out. Any police force can apply.

Saying the same to my mates in the pub last night, if our local plod aren't up to the job get West Yorks, Derbyshire or Notts dibble in. Both clubs and sets of supporters should be as one on this farce. Doesn't a certain amount of the council tax go to local plod, if all Sheffield football fans started withholding paying that portion of the bill it might start concentrating a few minds in the powers that be in Sheffield.

This needs fighting, it's the tip of the ice berg because once the derby goes to midweek, then it'll be games v Leeds, then Barnsley, then Rotherham, Hull, Forest, Derby, Brum, Villa, Millwall et al until there's no weekend fixtures in Sheffield.

They've also asked murderers ,stabbers thieves and rapists if they can work midweek too ,so they can concentrate on speed camera work on a weekend.
Roberts would rather our children and people who work away will never get to attend a Derby match so he doesn't have to extend himself policing football matches ,which he is paid very handsomely for. What an absolute joke this lily livered specimen is.
