Just posted on another thread asking what the earlier 'incident' was about. After Evans missed that sitter Dean charged after him giving him some right verbals.

Have these 2 got history or something?

He really made a point of going after him after the earlier miss, it was much more than the usual verbals you might see. Then there was this. But they did shake hands after the game.

Didn't someone say on another thread that he was actually shouting something at Fleck, who was off camera.

He was giving Evans the verbals because of how he dived for a free kick in the build up to that sitter he missed.

Is it just me who doesn't find anything endearing about our keeper wasting time?

I love his passion and I enjoyed his ribbing if the Derby fans, but I could do without some of the other antics, personally.

Anyone remeber Angus Gunn?

No it's not.

It's the bane of the modern game and it's getting worse. Ref's do SFA about it and just very occassionally give a keeper a yellow. That then gives them carte blanche for to carry on with the shithousery, as AFAIA, no keeper has ever been sent off for two time wasting yellows.

The refs certainly encourage it, but considering a portion of our fans now regularly sing the "Take your time Sheff Utd" song, they're not the only ones, unfortunately.

Unless they bring a rule of opening timing on the scoreboard and stopping the clock for every break of play, which I would like to see, you aren’t going to stop it. Just like those ridiculous substitutes in the 94th minute.

So what are you saying? We can't stop it so we should just play along and ignore it?

I'm not trying to put words in your mouth; I'm genuinely trying to work out your stance.

If everyone does it, does that make it ok?
No it’s not ok. Its easy to say that it’s the refs responsibility to ensure that rules are adhered, however it’s the players and the teams responsibility and duty to the game to play and act fairly.

One thing I love about Wilders team is the discipline. Until Bashams dodgy second yellow this week we’d got an excellent disciplinary record. We play fairly and we never crowd the ref. Perhaps this is why Derby thought they could bully us.

I hate diving, time wasting, but I love the hard tackles and camaraderie that comes from standing up for each other.

It’s quite funny that Deano is blatantly doing these things though

I’d hope he’d get booked for it

time wasting annoys me too - as is usual with anyone involved in the administration of football, they are way behind the times in solving problems/issues.

Do what rugby league does - take it out of the refs hands (bonus here is the ref can then concentrate on the the game and players) and give it to some neutrals to control. As an example - when a ball goes dead or out of play, there could be a set number of seconds to take it, before the clock is then stopped. It could be restarted when it's actually taken. For a throw in - 10 seconds max. For a goal kick - perhaps 20 seconds max.

And as for the twats at Norwich last season - they took it to a new level.

I would obviously be delighted to be promoted, in spite of time wasting.

Given the choice, if we were 1-0 in the play off final, I'd much sooner we kill the game by keeping possession and making good decisions, or god forbid, go for a second.

Or which is easier don't put Johnson on :D

Tell you what irks me about time wasting... the taking it into the corner and trying to hang onto the ball.

99/100 it ends with a free kick being given to the other team or concession of possession and wastes a massive 5-10 seconds maximum. It's far more productive to keep it in open play and pass the ball around.
