A great long pass from a footballing goalkeeper. Very different to Lurch lumbering to the half-way line and launching it in the general direction of the clouds.

I reckon you’re only teasing, mate. You ❤️ The Right Way.

Some people don't understand that a great team can utilise direct play when the oppurtunity presents itself - Henderson's quick thinking, Sharp' s strength and movement combined with Duffy's execution was beautiful to watch.

The differnece between that and hoofball normally occurs when playing it long is plan A, B & C and when height dictates the transfer policy, which we've seen our fair shares worth of.

That touch from Duffy to take the ball away from defender was top draw, the finish quality. Just wished he was 5 years younger.
His pass threaded through for the 3rd and the one in the first half that Didsy could have scored were also top draw. What a player:)

Quality play and today we put a team to bed early. 2 goals either side of half time knocked the stuffing out of Wigan.

We would only sell him if he was 5 years younger and The same goes with Billy , were a club that needs to look for good old players who still want to achieve and enjoy their football , mcgoldrick had no club when we signed him ffs !

That pass to Didsy in the first half was like watching Zidane, Iniesta and Pirlo back in the day. It was world class, just a shame Didsy didn’t finish it off.

He just glanced and in an instant just manouvered the ball on with a sublime pass. No one else at the club would have made that except possibly Norwood. Brilliant!

Watching it back I think McG would have had to take a shot from around the edge of the box to score, his touch was perhaps a tad heavy but even if he kept it closer the defender had him beat for pace and would still have got there I think.

Some kind of Cruyff turn to take the defender out of it or a long shot, like Donaldson scoring our second at Sunderland last season.

Fantastic pass though. Take nothing away from that.

Possibly. Alternatively, I think he could’ve feigned to shoot and made the defender commit by sliding too early but it doesn’t matter now, thankfully. :)

That ball from Duffy though......... wow!

Duff involved in all three. A man with magic in his feet. Front three all superb today. Rock solid at the back too with George and Enda both impressive again.

I thought Ollie and Fleck were a bit below par personally. Not rubbish by any means but not close to their best. Both less comfortable in possession than they ought to be.
That goal of Duffy’s. Anyone who thinks HIS legs have gone need to take a look at the ground he covered from his own half to get on the end of Sharp’s pass. Great run by Duffy, lovely ball by Billy and a great jink n finish by the Bounceslayer!

A friend of mine at worked, who has always loathed Mark Duffy, said 'he did nothing all game, except two passes' and that 'Billy Sharp laid one on a plate for him'. Her son, whose ear she had clearly been dripping poison into, apparently can't wait for 'that new, improved Duffy' to start our next game, so bad was the maestro at Wigan.

So it's not just the other lot who are deluded.

Nothing as strange as folk mate!
