17 (unless he's scored a penalty and you excluded that)The Fourth One
(Sharp thread tonight that is, probably)
But I might as well contribute anyway so here you go: Joint top scorer in the division with 16 goals and NO PENALTIES.
Unfortunately Jordan Rhodes will probably one day break this record.
We are so lucky to have him. One thing we should all thanks Adkins for.
No he won’t
Should take him about another 18 seasons then at his current scoring rateThere's a very good chance he will.
He's only 35 goals behind Billy but he's exactly 4 years younger.
Strangely, they both share the same birthday.

I would take the bet that JR will never score the same amount of goals that Billy has already scored plus the goals that Bily is yet to score in the next couple of seasons.
You would have taken the same bet regarding Billy four years ago and lost spectacularly.

Would I? sorry, but you've lost me here.
Enjoy your trip to the sty today, quite a few crawled out of the woodwork.
Must admit I thought he was coming to the end of his career at the blades a season or two ago . I WAS WRONG .Four years ago Billy was warming the bench at Leeds and looked to be fading into obscurity after frustrating spells at Forest and Reading.
If someone had told you that four years later he would have scored another 80 league goals, be breaking Rickie Lambert's record and would be the current top scorer in the Championship you'd have thought they were mad.
Don't write people off is all I'm saying.
There's a very good chance he will.

But Billy's scoring goals for fun now and playing like he's getting better with age. Rhodes looks like he might struggle to get 30 more goals before he retires.
If anything, I can only see Billy pulling away in the scoring charts from hot shot Jordan.

Even stranger, Cristiano Ronaldo was also born on 5th February, exactly one year before Billy.
Isn't it about time Jimmy Hagan was immortalised with a statue. Amongst the older generation like me dad he is still regarded as the 'greatest'. A man that even bucked the trend by refusing to be sold by a board that wanted to cash in on him by selling him to the Pigs.80 league goals in his current spell for the Blades.
Next landmark, needs 12 more for 100 league goals for the Blades to join the '100 club'...
Harry Johnson (jnr) 205
Alan Woodward 159
Keith Edwards 144
Jimmy Dunne 143
Doc Pace 140
Fred Tunstall 129
Billy Gillespie 129
(Sir) Jimmy Hagan 117
Jock Dodds 114
Joe Kitchen 110
Jack Pickering 104
Alf Ringstead 101
This is the reason why we need another striker who is readily scoring. If Billy gets injured or (heaven forbid) sold for silly money, we need to replace his goals.Rhodes 4 years younger !!! Looks older than billy, if Rhodes drops down a league or two he might break the record but he's on to much money at mo for clubs in them leagues I would imagine.
God just imagine if Billy had gone to Sunderland we'd have been fooked then![]()
