I had a massive smile on my face most of the first half, thought we were excellent.

They outclassed us second but they earn millions, anyone who doesn't think that matters is wrong.

Best football I've seen in 40 years and the players care, I'll take that and I'll take our shortcomings as well.

I agree to a large extent. We can't ask for anymore from any player and we haven't been able to say that too often.

Its frustrating because we are so close and the issues at the top mean we will likely lose the manager and not be able to build but as a squad of players right now I can't praise them enough. They are playing so far above their careers and wages suggest they should be .

Depends on your expectations. If you are to believe we are genuine promotion contenders then you will be alarmed (I am). If you are happy go lucky and pat the lads on the back for falling apart like tonight then you are happy? I guess?

We are a very good upper mid table Championship side..

...but if one the real big beasts in this league has a good 30 minutes plus in a game against us it’s likley we will get beat.

WBA, like Swansea on the opening day, have the sort of quality we can’t even hope to sign in anything like the near future.

I’m beginning to believe it irrelevant if we get in the top six or not cos if we come up against a team like these or Boro or the revitalised Villa over two legs we haven’t got much chance.

My expectations of a squad assembled for peanuts and paid relative peanuts is low, what Wilder has done with what he has has raised those expectations, and we are still beating those for me and we are outplaying much better sides, our problem is we can't do it for 90 mins and we don't score enough when we are on top.

If your expectations are to finish top 2 against the quality in this league I think they're too high but go for it.

We just don’t take our chances and we over complicate things in and around the box. Lovely football at times tonight in the first half but the final ball - oh dear! And then we seem to get frustrated and run out of ideas.

What this side needs to do is score 2 goals when we're on top any less and were vulnerable in the second half, but to get those 2 goals the final ball needs more quality and more quality in the box ( although I still believe that Billy has that quality if found) and that takes money, that we don't have so for now we have to watch the best United side I've seen in 20 years nearly match the very best teams in the championship

They're not mutually exclusive.
I think we have the potential to be promotion contenders without doubt. I'm not alarmed. I've also no misguided sense of self-entitlement.

Amen. Thought the first 30 mins we were outstanding. Would rather focus on that and use that as a building block rather than focus on the second half where we were a little short...

These glass half empty/the sky is falling in doomsayers soon forget 6 years in League One and how bad we were for 5 of those years...
