Not surprising, but it's probably the right way to go about this transfer window. It does mean the Brooks money won't be suitably reinvested though which although predictable, is absolutely shocking. Opportunities to sign players permanently at reasonable prices shouldn't be missed.

Let's hope for a Tammy Abrahams Mitrovic type signing...

Will they count in the attendance though?

Great point and it really is that easy. Tell the hilariously named 'Chuckle Brothers' to do one and before you know it we will have rich new owners.

Blackburn, Birmingham, Charlton.

BTW Gibson has been been in charge at Boro for 24 years and is a local lad made good, so he's more akin to KM. Maybe come back when you've checked your facts eh?

Ok mate so are you happy having two owners squabble over the ownership of Td club , when in that mean time we’ve spent nothing (we sold Brooks so where In a surplus) while we’ve had the best two opportunities with a bit of backing to get promoted last January and it’s looking like this January.

Again the only way we’ll ever get promoted is by wilder working miracles which he’s doing or having owners with a bit of ambition.

If wilder decides to leave then we’d be no better than a Wigan, Sunderland in a few years

Of course I'm not happy, but you can't just wish new owners into place.

I agree with the first bit, but not the second. Chansiri had 'ambition' as I'm sure the Venkys did at Blackburn and Carso Jeung at Brum etc etc etc. Ambition on its own is useless. You need a sound plan and good footballing knowledge.

For the record, I'd rather stick with CW/AK and our squabbling owners, than have a newly minted foreign billionaire coming in and deciding to play with his new toy. That's exactly what happened at Brum when the replaced Rowett with Zola becasue he was a 'name'. I'd guess not many Chinese or Middle Eastern billionaires have heard about a lad from Stocksbridge who was once a ball boy and played most of his games in the lower leagues.

On that we can agree!

Maybe the investment is for the wages for these loan players until the end of the season or they could be loan to perm deals ?!

I'm not surprised with this news and given that the lads he signed last JTW were then sold in summer I can't see any issue with this as long as their are additions in January that CW believes can add to the squad that will do with me.

Fuck it. That's me done.
Just ripped my st up, shat on it, fired a flare at it, punched it and stuck it to a small disabled childs kidney.
N'lot.
Kinnell pal. I can see that you’re angry but why take it out on the settee?

After taking a minute to think about it, it makes sense to me. We are in no way certainties to finish in the play offs never mind go straight up. So to spend big money in January would be a huge risk. If we did what Fulham did last season with Mitrovic we would first of all, disrupt the harmony of the team with a big name player on hefty wages, and worse still risk the financial state of the club if we failed to go up.
I think by getting loans in it suits us by not making an excessive gamble with say a player who is worth 5+million on 20k a week on a long term deal. Instead we can possible get the same calibre of player but on a 6 month loan with an option to buy if we somehow do get promoted. I would much rather us go down this route and not gamble with the club's future.

Mitrovic WAS a loan. Fulham only bought him when promotion was achieved.

Open your eyes mate we’re going nowhere with the chuckle brothers in charge .
We’re only where we are because of Chris wilder McCabe’s been let of the hook cause of him.
And Chansiri was one game and a penalty shout out the next season away from getting wendy to the prem and More than likely staying up there for a while

For every chansiri there’s 3/4 more wolves , Leicester , Bournemouth , boro , etc ...
Wendy were never good enough to go up.

I’m not even suggesting spend millions like a Wednesday or a brum so it’d be go up or go bust. Just a bit of healthy investment in the club from a sensible ambitious owner
Mccabes sensible but he doesn’t have any money.

I highly doubt we’d have been able to sign Egan and Norwood without selling brooks.

Ok I didn't realise that, but you get my point. Other teams will have spent big, taking big risks, Cardiff last season also spring to ming spending about 5 million too much on Madine.

I prefer interviews like this one, feels like the interviewer is just having a conversation with Wilder, doesn't feel forced as many of them sound like.

Thinking about it.. loan deals do seem like a good option for us now, going off our past January purchases, current situation with the owners, Norwood etc etc.
I have a funny feeling we actually might be in for a chance of signing Defoe

Managing expectations well Wilddog. In his next interview he’ll tell us that we are aiming for quality signings like Wilson and Woodburn.

I think a lot of rival teams supporters in this league are also a bit bemused to why we keep playing the “shoestring budget” card and with one of the best managers in the division are seemingly reluctant to back him?

Still waiting for this “deal changing” investment........or did I blink and miss it?

HaHaHaHaHaHa
Biggest Wilder bluff yet, everyone knows full well that the board will sanction at least spend £10 million on the two players we need. I mean only an absolute fucking idiot wouldn't
We haven't even touched the Brooks money yet

They were when they lost in the play offs and should have gone up when Huddersfield did

Luckily they’ve ballsd that up and are more likely to be playing in league one thankfully :)
They were shit against the udders.

A) he might be playing his cards close to his chest.

B) loans are the best way in the JTW if done properly, if we get a Mitrovic then we're well away.

C) loans are expensive, doesn't mean we've not got a pot to piss in necessarily. JTW is notoriously a bad value window. Probably not wanting to piss what we do have up the wall.

And D - this is Chris Wilder, he is savvy with media talk and there could be a bit of deception going on about exactly what sort of business we can do.

Good luck in finding one of them mate , better the devil you know. McCabe may not be chansiri you want but he keeps us safe.

Jermain Defoe - Loan until end of the season
Luke Freeman - Loan with a view to permanent if we are promoted

This is what most clubs do in January. The permanent market is really difficult in the upcoming window and the only realistic targets are from the league below which, as we we saw last season, is a gamble.

The issue is how competitive we will be in the loan market. I'm not expecting a huge Abrahams type signing but I'll be disappointed if we end up with an untried 18 year old.
