I’ve no problem with loans given we have a permanent back bone to the team. As long as they are the right fit of course.

Last January's 3 purchases hardly transformed our fortunes so I don't think it would be the end of the world if we don't make any permanent signings.

Needs to pull a rabbit out of a hat then. I couldn’t name you a number 10 to compete/better Duffy, which we badly need, that will be attainable on loan. Hope Wilder has something up his sleeve.

A) he might be playing his cards close to his chest.

B) loans are the best way in the JTW if done properly, if we get a Mitrovic then we're well away.

C) loans are expensive, doesn't mean we've not got a pot to piss in necessarily. JTW is notoriously a bad value window. Probably not wanting to piss what we do have up the wall.

I think most on here didn't expect big signings in the JTW due as others have said to the poor value and high prices.
If we can get a 10 goal plus striker with pace and maybe a Duffy type I'd be happy. I'm really pleased this news is out now. Hopefully it will prevent countless 50 page threads about names we haven't a cat in bells chance of signing.

Not too surprised and probably means we'll be loaning from the Premier League, either youngsters and/or squad players not on the first team picture at their parent cubs.

We can rule out Marcus Maddison signing you would have thought, for those like me that wanted him, but hopefully we'll get in some quality and hopefully early too. We know Wilders record is decent and I'm sure we'll be stronger post January for it.

Excited about Tyler Smith possibly getting a chance in the first team. Been scoring for fun at Barrow (albeit at a much lower level), but that first team experience in the men's game will be vital for him.

West Brom might be an excellent game to give him his first Blades appearance too. Their defense is quite leaky so are likely to give away good quality chances.
