Been impressed with Mcgoldrick although his finishing isn’t half frustrating to the point where he will develop a reputation amongst some as being unable to hit a barn door etc

The rest of his play is good I do think however that on Friday we may see a Washington and Sharp pairing. Think Washington can cause WBA problems and Sharp would be able to take advantage. WBA are struggling to keep clean sheets for me I’d be keen to see how these two click

I’m sure Duffy will be in behind them with McGoldrick on the bench. Not a bad sub to bring on either

Start Mcgoldrick and bring on Duffy for him later, Duffy is a game changer, Mcgoldrick is not.

I agreed completely with the pundits last night that whilst Washington gives us another option, we changed our style last night in the 1st half sitting back and playing it long. I think Washington is going to be one of those players who doesn't quite fit in and is not prolific enough to warrant a start, difficult though it is to get prolific when you're not starting !

I think he's probably going to be better served as an impact player when defences are tiring, particularly at home. I'd be amazed if it's not Sharp/McGoldrick on Friday.

Wilder's tactic of playing the 2nd half first yesterday did work well in getting us the 3 points. However, it could be argued that sticking to his tried and tested tactic could have had the game wrapped up by half-time, but that wouldn't have given us all those wonderful hearts-in-mouths moments we have come to love as the tetchy Blades fans we have become.
Question is - will he think it could work again on Friday? Given that WBA are a pretty formidable attacking outfit with a shite defence, my approach would be to swarm all over them in the 1st twenty minutes to try and kill them off, then allow us our customary heart-stopping anxieties in the 2nd half as we pump it down the left-channel for Washington to buy us some time and respite.
We'll see........

Duffy maybe a game changer but we shouldn’t be looking to change games we should be looking to control games from the off.
In an ideal world we'd also be millionaires with naked maids and we'd never have to work, but this isn't an ideal world, it's the real world, and none of this happens.

We don't control games from the off? Erm, yes we do. Quite often.

But not every game, and we don't control the whole game either, again, as it's not an ideal world!

And Villa were 4th when we tore them a new one.

Interesting that he's not responded isn't it...

Once again you fail to see the irony and sarcasm
I've been one of our loudest critics of those that have said we can't beat the better teams

I sarcastically said it doesn't matter what we do against West Brom, quoting certain others and you all jump in with your hissy fit,

Not when we beat them they weren't

Is what everyone's responding to.

But WBA are a top six team.
It doesn't matter what we do

Is your 'ironic' post.

I personally don't see Washington and Billy working as a pairing as to get the best out of Washington it seems we have to rush our play and take less passes in doing so - this would completely bypass Billy who thrives off a more patient build up and arriving in the box at just the right time.

Agreed with above, I don't see Washington and Billy as a pairing. Both thrive as the striker looking to get on the end of things, sitting on the shoulder of the last man. They're not the types to excel at showing for the ball, holding it up and allowing others to play off them. I'm of course massively simplifying both roles but that's the crux of it. That's why at the moment we normally get a combo of Leon/McG and Sharp/Washington.

Sharp and Clarke, with McGoldrick behind I think. Duffy on bench.

Agree.

Sharp doesn’t have pace or physicality but he’s great at clever movement and finding space.
The big problem is that he needs someone creative who can play the ball direct to his feet, like a Duffy or McGoldrick.
Even Leon has decent hold up play with clever passing.
Don’t think Washington is capable of clever link play, think he suits the direct....knock it into areas game more.
