Were playing some really good football but were not wining games and I don't know why !!!! If we brought a so called high profile striker for loads of cash would that solve the problem ??
McGoldrick is a great player but so frustrating when he gets in front of the goal , I am just looking at the league table and we are still in the playoff position , 6th , IF we can get a run going we could and should be inline of a automatic place . FFS someone sort it out !!
If we don't do it this season I think there will be major changes at the club on all levels of the club staff, a lot of our players are coming to the end of their playing careers and I do think Chris will leave of his own accord , were half way through the season and really hope it doesn't fall away like last season , Reading next we need to win end of !

I share a lot of that. I think everyone gives everything and for that you can't have a go. It's all I ever wanted.

Going forward. There's a limit to what you can expect. Our mistakes cost us points (3 This week alone) but cutting them out requires a level of investment in better professionals that just isn't there.

I bang my head on the table like all of us. But I don't see a way from being contenders to certainties with where we are.

Everyone gives 110%, that we cannot fault but we're just not clinical enough and that's points dropped despite domination against Forest, Pigs and Stoke, two points dropped after snatching an undeserved lead against Rovrum and points thrown away today.

The more these points are dropped, the more we seem to overthink it and over play.

The Bournemouth Player would've made a monumental difference for us this season.

That's my biggest frustration.
Do you know what you have just answered my question in one , take the 15 mill , instead of the 50 mill if we go up , sell sell sell its all we do , were good at it , in fact were top of the league at it !

I will do when we reinvest the pathetic fee on the sort of quality that will make a difference.

Can't argue with you on that point. Maybe Woodburn was seen as a cheap stop gap but seen as though that hasn't worked we really need to sort out a quality replacement.

Said at the time the Woodburn signing had to be in addition to a permanent Brooks replacement. Replacing him just with a kid on loan should never have been an option.

We can pick it up again.3 local derbies with just Brentford away amongst them they were all pressure games to get through.

Could we make a 12mil gamble on that being the case? Because as much as I've always rated him (before he broke through), i think that's debatable.

We do, however, need to do something to make the most of our current opportunity.

The only gamble was him avoiding a terrible injury. We had an asset that would only gain value, largely due to his natural physical development. As expected, we're seeing evidence of that this season, as he copes with the rigours of PL football every week.

If Duffy has an off game or is tightly marked we massively lack in creativity
Sharp is a finisher but does not create a goal on his own
Final ball or cross is so often lacking in quality
We lack pace when we break against teams.
On the positive we play great football, dominate large parts of games and give 100%, it’s good to watch and I look forward to every game unlike 6 years in division 1
We probably are a team at the moment that will finish anywhere between 5th and 10th
If we can improve in January then possibly better but I doubt with the current boardroom situation there will be any real money available to spend, maybe a couple of million at best

The trouble with our system is that we’re just asking too much of our defenders. The way they advance up the pitch we are expecting our centre backs to deliver defence splitting balls instead of giving the ball to midfielders like Fleck, Duffy and Norwood. We might have a lot of possession but our defenders passing it between themselves accounts for the lions share of it.

Sell the academy and buy a striker although I doubt we'd get the sale through before Jan now.

Last few games have revealed to me why we are not top 4 material, & are possibly more positions 5-8, at best.

Individual mistakes -Freeman, Egan, Henderson, Norwood, Stevens, Johnson... that I remember recently
Defence too leaky
Lack of cutting edge in final 3rd
Cannot break down sides who play defensively
Inconsistent performances
Too dependent on the midfield trio

I do not believe in luck, but some seasons it just seems to happen for you, & others it does not. This season it is not! cf Leeds 6 points from 2 games when 2 points would have been fair but for 2 situations, Reading miss a late pen, & Egan & Hendo gift them a goal.

Another Saturday when everyone wins but us & we are 6th. We can come again in January etc, but I think our inadequacies are becoming obvious, & CW's SKY interview intimated that he knows it

Too right Ricky
However we'll all be slagged off for saying it because we wouldn't have had Norwood or Egan

But at the start of a new season Norwood and Egan is the very least we should have expected even without selling Brooks

Then there's the other apologists that say if we'd kept Brooks he wouldn't have been a regular in our team...………...BOLLOCKS !!!!
McGoldrick probably wouldn't be here and Duffy would be the second string attacking midfielder, meaning he would be able to last a bit longer in games

largely due to his natural physical development.

Which is the only reason we had him in the first place, that, coupled with glandular fever could have meant another 12+ months of bit part appearances.

In hindsight, we'd have brought him for Duffy and torn them a new one today.

It's quite possible to not be an apologist, but understand why we sold the lad who wanted to go.

Pity you don'tshare the rounds;)

Were playing some really good football but were not wining games and I don't know why !!!!!

Because were scoring less than the other team, or not scoring at all............We desperately need a change in front of goal, it's as if we're playing with 10 men n the Striker is the man missing.
How many times do we get the ball into shooting positions or just in the box, and there's no fucker there!!!
This is what I liked about Washington/Clarke on Tuesday, Washington pulled the defenders out with his pace, and left Clarke open in front of goal, and bang, Clarke slots home.
Let's get out of the same old faces habit, and try new things, what do we have to lose, were already losing games because we can't score.

Why do we have to go through this hand wringing & bleating when we don't hammer teams off the park?

These are the facts; our players are consistently playing to a level they have not achieved previously in their careers for the most part, they give everything for the cause, but there is only so far coaching will take you. We have no money to buy better players, this is a fact known to everyone so why moan we need them when it isn't going to happen? Especially so given the boardroom unrest, it doesn't matter if this is our best chance of going up, we can't spend what we don't have; yes the timing could be better, but it isn't so why not stop fucking moaning, get behind the management & players & show them we are fully behind them & appreciate what they are trying to do? We have to hope that Wilder & Knill keep on finding gems for little money in the transfer market, because that is the only way at the moment, there are no money trees in the Sheffield United garden. Never satisfied some people.

We're not 5-8 at best either
More like 9-12th
The last seven or eight games have told me that
We do ok against the also rans, or clubs that are in poor form or in turmoil like Villa were, but if we played them tomorrow we wouldn't beat them, we wouldn't beat Norwich either if we played them tomorrow.
Any genuine promotion contender and we lose because not enough is invested in the players that can really change a game, same old story
