All fair comments imho.

Frustrating is the word for sure.

Criticism seems harsh even though I've dished a bit out occasionally.

The frustration is that age is catching up with some of our players and the younger better ones will be snapped up if we don't continue to progress.

We can't do anything about not being a wealthy club but the boardroom squabble is so Sheffield United. You just know we won't be allowed to make the very most of Wilder and now.

For all McCabe has done, I personally look forward to the day both he and the Prince move on, and we make a fresh start.

People fear what will happen but that day is coming anyway based on KM's time of life.

Or plan B/C/D etc. We are far to predictable and teams know exactly what they will be facing now. Would be nice to see Fleck and Norwood come forward a bit more and be encouraged to shoot, every cross gets slammed in the box and it's all too obvious. Why not work on cut backs for the onrushing Fleck/Norwood, both can shoot. We need to think ourselves out of trouble when it's not working.

I do think we could do with changing it around now and then but the main issue is the quality of the players. We are getting the best out of them but the best is only going to see us a mid table Championship side.

I think we've shown over the last 2 seasons exactly what we are and let's be honest we would have taken 2 seasons of mid table Championship football. Its just so frustrating what's going on in the board room and I can see us throwing all the good work away instead of building a side to really compete at the top.
 
We've thrown away a stupid amount of points - as usual. And many of them have come at the BL end late in the game. I suggest we kick the opposite way.

On the flip side, we've played a number of teams at very convenient times and they account for a lot of our victories.

Overall, I don't think we can realistically expect to be any higher. A side who can't score at home against Wednesday or Leeds aren't true contenders.

We're not good enough. We've hit our ceiling. We've squeezed everything out of what we've got and it's painfully clear to see.

For me, we're done this season. We'll not see the top 2 again and we'll do well not to fall away from the top 6.

Theres a few contradictions in that post.

You say we need to change the team but then say we are getting the best out of them.
But say the best will only achieve mid table. We can play better and if we do we’re capable of top 2.
We’re thrown away loads of points already but still in the play-offs. Only a big down turn of form will lead to mid table.

You say the last 2 seasons has seen mid table football. However most of the last 2 seasons has been spent in the play-off places battling it out for promotion, not sure where mid table is coming from. You seem to be blaming individual blunders on the board.
The politics in the board room are irrelevant as long as we see support for Wilder and so far he’s been well supported.
Assume we’ll have 6 to 8 million to spend in January, but that won’t buy much as usually in January prices are even more inflated to crazy levels. That’s not the boards fault or do you want them to gamble 20 million risking FFP and also put the club in major debt meaning we have to sell our best players in future. It’s been many years (probably Murphy) since we sold our best player so they deserve some credit.
 
It would certainly help if McGoldrick could hit a 24ft wide target instead of the man on the line defending or the goalkeeper

Twice today he had a clear goalscoring chance from no more than 10 yards out but hit the goalkeeper with his shot.

Not blaming him for the defeat because the rest of his game was quite good, but his finishing is awful

You can also include the glaring miss that he slashed high and wide after Sharp had been given offside, he didn't know it was offside but still missed a simple chance

The situations he's been in would have probably been better to scuff or mis hit his shots, but he's striking the ball cleanly straight at the goalkeeper

I said we needed to change the formation once in a while and whilst we were in the play offs for a while last season we finished 11th and I imagine we won't be far off that again this season.

The board room saga is clearly an issue moving forward and I'm not sure even Wilder would disagree judging by his post match comments.
 
I don’t know about “sussed” our system, everyone knows how we play but we still create the chances so it says to me they haven’t stopped us. We just can’t put them away.

We lack the individual bit of quality to kick on, a breaking from midfield goal scorer, a powerful pacey striker who can take chances.

That’s about a minimum of £15m worth of spending required to fill those positions, in that sense we have indeed hit our ceiling.

I still think we will beat the likes of Reading, Ipswich, and the majority of the bottom half teams for a comfortable mid table finishing position.

We will struggle to beat the top 8 though in the six pointers.

They sussed it at the end of last season. It picked up when we brought Norwood in as it brought us a new edge.

Time to freshen it up again.

I don’t know, maybe they think there is a better way, maybe they set out to but just don’t manage it. Sometimes they do but we’re too good for them anyway.

You really think that we on here have known for a while the best way to stop us playing our system but the majority of professional managers in this division don’t?

In a word yes.

I don't think I'm good enough to be a professional football manager, but I've seen enough United managers over the years get their tactics blatantly wrong.

Which football genius decided we should approach the play off final against Burnley with the exact same tactics that had failed dismally against them twice previously that season.

Plenty of managers get it wrong.

Would you be saying that if Sharp or McGoldrick had put there chances away today? Or scored the penalty against the pigs? Or defended properly at the death at Rotherham? Were you saying it on Tuesday night? Of course not. Would a forward thinking boss like Wilder not have altered the way we play if we had?

You're either good enough on the day or you're not

I don't see many teams sussing out Barcelona in Spain, Bayern in Germany or Man City in England.
They lose an odd game when they're not at it and not good enough on the day, it's nothing to do with a team sussing them out

We're not good enough, simple as that, when we're on it we're a handful for anybody but too many times we're not on it

when both teams are on it we usually lose
 
This 'been sussed' is old hat and frankly a bit dim. All clubs in all leagues know basically how all the other teams play. People get paid a fortune to know this stuff.
There's nothing wrong with how we play, we just need to play it better, maybe with some better players, but this will obviously take time.

Getting it wrong and not ‘sussing out’ our system are two very different things.

It’s a fancy way of saying we aren’t/weren’t good enough.
 
We are doing exactly what we did last season,its almost unbelievable we get to position 1 and then begin slipping down the table.

On a side note are our next two games Reading and WBA on Sky,me i wish the would fuck off.
